How did you find your job?

I wanted to start this thread to help people who are looking for a job in Luxembourg, because I was in their shoes just last year.

I thought it would be great if everyone who found a job in Luxembourg within the last 2–3 years could share their experience. I think it could become a really valuable resource for current job seekers.

I’ll start. I was laid off last year and found a new job after 5 months. I came across the position on LinkedIn, then applied through the company’s website. I didn’t have any referrals or prior networking with the company. Looking back, I think I was invited to interview because my background matched the role very well. For context, I’m a computer scientist, and I speak only English.

If you’ve recently landed a job in Luxembourg, would you mind sharing:

Domain/Industry:
How long did your job search take?
How did you find the position? (LinkedIn, company website, referral, networking event, recruiter, etc.)
Why do you think you were selected? (Relevant experience, niche expertise, referrals, certifications, etc.)
Any advice you’d give to someone currently looking for a job in Luxembourg?

Hopefully this thread can help others understand what worked in today’s job market.

Truth of living in Luxembourg

I could definitely feel their pains and I wonder if anything will change in Luxembourg. We love this country but we feel like we are forced to leave it.
