This isn’t anything new, but I checked out Along the Ride movie for the Beach House score and this gorgeous song played when the end credits rolled! I haven’t seen it posted online anywhere before so I thought I’d share it here for those who maybe haven’t heard it yet
Hey guys, I really liked the original songs the band made for the 2019 Rodarte short film but the crowd noises/voiceovers in the video are just craazy and make the songs unlistenable so I tried my hand at fixing them up… i wanna say I was able to get rid of like 95% of the noise? Basically as close to studio quality as we’ll get I think, anyways here’s the youtube links:

Also this isn’t exactly new news but I do find it pretty interesting that each song is credited to Alex and Victoria individually… really cool seeing the difference in their styles side by side like this & how they combine into the typical beach house sound we all love. This is kinda niche but I hope this helps if anybody was looking to listen to these songs in higher quality

I plan on updating this regularly with any new merchandise drops, and I plan on adding a section that helps identify real merchandise vs copied bootlegs as I know there’s a ton of fake t-shirts on eBay and it can be kinda hard to tell. Hi guys! Since they didn’t exist online yet, I took it upon myself to transcribe all of the lyrics of Daggerhearts (The band Victoria and Alex were in before Beach House) and upload them to Genius. I think it gives a really good glimpse into Victoria’s early songwriting, and it’s also really fun to see the contrast of these more playful, rebellious, stream-of-consciousness type lyrics when compared to Beach House’s. There are 17 different songs in total (excluding the 4 alternate versions which are almost lyrically identical to their original counterparts)
It’s worth noting that some of these lyrics are seriously beautiful and definitely worth seeing if you love Victoria’s typical songwriting— check out My Love, Horror Flick, and Untitled. The original lyrics of Home Again are also quite interesting as they’re very different from the ones on Devotion’s version, though I had trouble deciphering a lot of it
There were a few spots here & there when transcribing where I couldn’t quite figure out a word/line so I put a [?] as a placeholder, but if you have better ears than I and can figure it out feel totally free to leave a comment here or edit the page on Genius itself! And if you’re wondering where to listen to the actual songs, they are available on YouTube, SoundCloud, or the Internet Archive
I was doing some searching around as one does and came across a 2008 Barcelona concert bootleg recording that has this really early version of Norway so I uploaded it to YouTube! So cool to see how the song evolved into the TD version as the instrumental and vibe here is quite different
There’s also a video recording on YouTube from the same performance, but the sound quality is kinda horrible in that one.. but super interesting to see Victoria on drums and Alex on keyboard (Linking it in the comments cause when I tried to link it here it messed up my post)
Just wanted to share some cool stuff i found when looking through the website of the (now defunct) Talking Head club in Baltimore… First screenshot is from October 28, 2005 and the second one is from November 3, 2005 (but its the same Nov. 13 schedule posting). Seems like for their band name they originally went with Beach House on the Moon, then Planetarium, and then finally settled on Beach House. I also found an interview from a French website where Victoria mentions the Beach House on the Moon name (third pic). Theres a 1999 Jimmy Buffet album by the same name, so I wonder if they took inspiration from that or if it’s just a coincidence. Regardless, super interesting stuff!
