Need advice on Writing and Speaking
Hi there, I have attempted celpip examination twice here are my scores
- L:11, R:10, W:8,S:8
- L:7, R:10, W;7, S:8
Generally, I feel that my listening and reading modules are strong I barely got 8 while practicing at home. I need tips and tricks to fix my writing and speaking modules. Here are my strategies which followed during exams.
- First attempt -
Writing - I prepared a template for T2, of around 70-80 words which has two complex sentences, one idiom, designed evidence framework and 2-3 advance vocabs itself.
- I felt I would get around 9-10 in my first attempt as topic was easy, but reality was different I only received 8, though applied for reevaluation and didn’t change anything. I was quite pissed.
Speaking - I created templates for each tasks(except t8) on how to start intro, body and conclusions. I was able to deliver few complex sentences, idioms in few responses. However, for task 4 and 5 I wasn’t able to finish conclusion smoothly.
- Second attempt - I learned from my previous mistakes and followed my friend’s advice who had fabulous score in WS section with similar english fluency. This time I eliminated reliance on template and attempted both modules naturally (minimal framework design)
However, this time exam was tough for me. Writing tasks look weird to me, so as speaking modules - looks like AI prepared exam questions.
I performed decent in writing and speaking modules. Nonetheless, scores are plunged drastically. After overlooking templates, I’ve realized my grammar mistakes are increased and started using unnatural collocations. However, I tried to fix during proofreading.
Note : I studied english as a second language and I have little stammering problem. When I speak with my colleagues it wont noticed but during nervousness it quite visible or my voice start hesitate when I am out of vocabulary/content.
Any significant advice how may I achieve 9+ in WS? My concern is should I rely on template? I’m genuinely stuck in dilemma and couldn’t figure out my weakness and remedies.
