Question about living as a mainlander.

I'm in the academy to become an Air Traffic Controller and I'm just thinking about my options of where to go once I'm out. Something that my instructor told me felt... off.

He made a comment that mainlanders aren't welcomed in Hawaii and tend to leave due to clashes with locals.

In my head this felt kind of odd. The way he said it rubbed me the wrong way, it had the same tone as someone who gets mad when they visit a different culture and gets confused when they do something disrespectful.

I wanted to know, truthfully, if I were to pick Hawaii as my center would I have this issue or am I right to think as long as respect and interest in learning is shown everything will be fine.

(I'm not looking for ATC related advice. This is purely me wanting to get an actual picture of life there from a social/culture perspective.)

Help with finding some bits and painting!

So I've decided to finally take the dive into building a physical army as a newer-ish 40K player. I like to make my lists match my own custom characters and sub-factions, with my favorite being the Imperial Inquisition so let's take a look at the army options-

Okay so T'au! While playing and reading about the T'au I came up with an idea for a "sept" that I like, that being a nomadic flotilla that patrols T'au space rather than being an established colony. I'll spare the details but because of this I want to lean into a more navy styled armor as well as mixing in that utilitarian look where the tanks and suits have some external storage on them. I also want to lean more into the Eastern Stylings of the T'au along with adding additional visual variety to the units. This is where I've started running into some issues.

First, finding East Asian styled weapons and accessory bits.

I'm mainly looking for things like the tanto from this art. Doesn't have to be specifically that size or style of blade or weapon but anything that generally fits that vibe. Also looking for a good source of pouches, bags, and weird Sci-Fi backpieces, again just to add some different looks for the Fire Warriors and Mechs.

I'd also appreciate a few suggestions for head/hair pieces. I tried looking but many that I found were deviating too far from the GW mini style and leaning too far into anime for me (I like anime just not on my T'au minis.)

The last thing I'm unsure about is if there are any particular camo stencils that people would recommend for painting infantry and vehicles? The camo I want to do is navy digital for infantry similar to this:

Thanks for taking the time to read and any help is deeply appreciated!
