when in the hell am i going to sleep.

last dose was last thursday (today is wednesday) and, though the awd are over, i have not slept one wink. it's coming up on 144 hours. i have trazadone and gaba. the traz gives me bad RLS and the gab does nothing to stop it, but they do both make me feel horrible in the morning. i've tried taking multiple baths and showers and, while it relieves the rls for about half an hour, it always comes right back. ive tried cannabis. ive tried every combo of all of those: nothing. no sleep. today was my first day back to work and i felt like a zombie. still worked physically hard (auto repair tech in a no ac shop in the south) tried to take a nap in my truck at lunch and got nowhere. i am going utterly insane. it's now an hour before my alarm goes off for work and NO SLEEP.

help.

almost 36hr since last dose- where are they?

i've had insomnia like crazy and restless legs last night, but no drippy nose, no diarrhea, no stomach pain...where are the real withdrawals? i am taking 5g of kratom leaf four-ish times a day- is this just prolonging the full wd? should i stop? i was previously taking 300mg of 7 every day for two years, for reference.

what tune do you associate more with "o little town of bethlehem"- st. louis or forest green?

another post inspired me to ask this question. i grew up methodist and only ever heard OLTOB sung to st louis, but my very first episcopal christmas eve it was sung to forest green and ive never looked back, i find it faaaar superior, and of course vaughan williams is second only to handel in anglican church music.

father's day gift

i am lucky enough to be married to a tattoo artist. for father's day she offered me a free tattoo of my choice... and i could think of no better symbol than that of the duchy of savoy. you'll note the small scar in the crook of my wrist- caused by an unfortunate and careless slip of my no. 6!

red rot?

i recently inherited this 50yo cornet that hasn't been played in 20 years. as far as i know has never been cleaned. i gave it a bath, snaked it out, greased/oiled and polished it the best i could- but there are several spots that either the silver plate is worn away, flaking... or potentially showing signs of red rot? i'm not sure. what do you guys think? i plan on taking it to a shop as soon as i locate one in the area that works on brass and have a couple hundred bucks to drop. just thought i'd ask the distinguished members of this here sub for their expert opinions.

converting a cornet to key of C

is it possible, by replacement tuning slide or other means, to convert a Bb instrument to C? i can't imagine it would be particularly easy to find a C tuning slide for sale for this relatively uncommon horn, but if i were able to locate one, would it be as simple as plug and play? if im not mistaken the horn louis armstrong was playing when he was discovered was a convertible cornet.

cornet mouthpieces

i recently inherited a super cool 70s vintage bach strad cornet. to those in the know- what's the deal with cornet mouthpieces? the instrument in question came with a schilke 7c and a bach 7c. should i pick up a different cup? i would like to bring the best out of this instrument, and i read things on here about how bach mouthpieces make cornets sound like trumpets... if you had all the money in an ideal world, what mouthpiece would you buy? is a wick worth it?

---EDIT---
typo! it's not a schilke 7c. it's a schilke 14. thanks to your answers i think i'll be using the 14 and eschewing the purchase of a new mouthpiece for the moment.
