Question on some Lagree 2.0 moves?

Not sure if this is 2.0 or not but I learned Lagree moves a while ago so going to a new studio and they teach these moves differently so wanted to see why it’s done this way.

  1. Elevator lunge bent back leg I know is 2.0 but why are the panels propped up? I feel like your knee has to come further back then to stack over ankles and then it gets really unstable since you’re not leaning forward anymore. So why the propped panels?

  2. Standing inner thighs also with propped panels. I feel like when I’m squeezing the inner thighs with those panels it makes me want to collapse my ankles in with those panels inward, am I doing this wrong or why is it propped at all? Im use to it flat.

If there’s any specific reasons for these panels pls explain!
