Olympia typebar issue

I cleaned the machine with isopropyl alcohol and checked for any obviously broken or loose parts.

The problem is that all of the typebars will strike the platen normally when a key is pressed, but they do not return fully to their rest position afterward. This affects every typebar, not just a few. The action through the segment (front comb) feels smooth with no noticeable sticking, and the typebars move freely on the way up.

\All of the visible springs appear intact and connected, and the carriage lock is disengaged.

Given that all typebars are affected equally, I'm wondering if I'm overlooking something obvious. Could this be dried lubricant or debris deeper in the segment, a return spring issue, or something else entirely?

The machine is an Olympia SM9. Any repair gurus have ideas on what I should check next?

Should I get this or not? Is it a Royal KMM? Its $13

Looks rough? $13. I don't have a standard yet. It looks hard to fix.

Hermes Baby worth a salvage?

Is it worth it to try and fix this? I love the light touch of this one. Should I just trash it?

The platen is hard, but no marks really, just dirty. Theres some fishing line for the carriage return, the main issue is the keys dont rest on that backrest. The d key is also sunken.

Got it for R100 / $10. I'm in South Africa, so no repair shops here. Help me out?
