Benefits of PFS for those not playing PFS

What do you see as beneficial to those that don't play PFS that PFS provides?

For context, in 1e PFS was a great example of what rules are and are not balanced for a campaign. Players could convince GMs about the value of certain rules if they were allowed in PFS and GMs could safely ban a list of options based on PFS's bans.

/r/OrganizedPlay

Organized Play has been a method of playing since the 1980's and in the past few years we are seeing more and more game systems utilize an Organized Play system to promote their game. Adventurer's League, Pathfinder Society, Cult of Chaos, West March, and the list goes on.

r/OrganizedPlay is a new sub to discuss what Organized Play is, the good aspects to these systems, the bad, and maybe help others create their own based on what other systems have done. If this sounds interesting, please join the conversation.
