Is this setup fine for a complete beginner?

I just started skating (literally day 2) and picked up a second-hand Freedom Dolly cruiser for £20.

I’m based in London and mainly want to cruise around, get comfortable on the board, and use it for short-distance travel. Roads/pavement here aren’t great, so a cruiser felt like the right call. However, I’ve been getting hella skate content on my feed which has made me think of street skating as** **well, maybe even trying a skatepark eventually.

I had my first proper session today, managed to push and get both feet back on the board (with one fuckass fall that hurt like hell), but one thing I noticed is my legs start shaking a lot when I’m balancing, even when I’m not moving fast.

So I have some questions.

First, is the leg shaking normal for beginners? What’s actually causing it, and how do I loosen up?

And secondly, does this setup look fine for what I’m trying to do, or does anything need adjusting (e.g. trucks too loose/tight) ?

Born, raised, educated in London. AMA!

I’m a 20 year old student based in London. I’ve lived here all my life, across North, East, South, Central, and soon, West London. I’m currently living in Central London, with plans to move to West London with my friends next year.

I’d say I have a fairly deep understanding of this city. Beautiful and gritty both. Hit me with whatever you got!
