Update concerning the broken wheel :)
I wanted to post an update because I think it’s only fair to Tynee, and also to everyone who took the time to read and reply to my original post.
After my previous exchanges with customer service regarding the wheel failure on my Tynee Mini 3 Max, I decided to contact directly Ayden, the owner of Tynee, who personally called me on WhatsApp from China just 1 hour later. We had a very good conversation, and he apologized for the way the situation had initially been handled.
He offered a solution that I personally consider fair:
- 6 additional months of warranty,
- A Tynee store credit equivalent to the amount I spent on the Cloudwheels after losing confidence in the original wheels
- A replacement for the defective original wheel, so I can once again have a complete set of the original wheels
For context, I had bought the Cloudwheels myself after the accident because I no longer felt comfortable riding on the original wheels, so having that amount compensated as store credit feels like a reasonable gesture to me.
I appreciated that Ayden contacted me personally, acknowledged that the handling of the situation had not been ideal, and genuinely seemed interested in finding a solution rather than just closing the complaint.
I still think the original wheel failure was a serious safety issue, and I stand by what I wrote in my first post. But I also think that when a company eventually steps up and handles a problem properly, that deserves to be shared too and I’m glad this could end on a much more positive note.
I’m considering using the credit on Tynee store to purchase the off-road kit. So if anyone here has actually installed the off-road kit on a Mini 3, I’d really like to hear your experience.
Thanks again to everyone here who gave me advice and shared their experiences. Your responses genuinely helped me decide how to approach the situation.
Ride safe everyone ✌️
