Matching outfits from Dear Darling

I’ve been wanting to post pics of these matching Dear Darling sets for a while, and the weather was finally nice today. This summer, I want to push myself to take more pictures of my dolls, take more interesting pictures of 2 or more dolls together, and find some more interesting backgrounds and set ups for photos.

I ordered these sets on a whim from Junie Moon after I got my tax refund (lol), and they are very cute and well made but with shipping and tariff fees, I’m not sure I consider them worth the price. However, I love the colors and think they look great with these dolls (Lavendula Babe in blue and Bling Bling Party Fur in mustard).

Bling Bling Party Fur ✨✨ has arrived

I need to wash her hair again, but she’s so pretty! She’s my first girl with no bangs and I think she looks even cuter in person than I hoped she would. Her hair color looks stunning next to Les Jeunette and Mod Molly and I’m excited to share more of my three gingers after spa day.

I’ve been spending too much time on Mercari lately finding random stock outfits to purchase (Pleasant Surprise, Country Summer, Musical Trench) so here are some quick pics of Ingrid (Lavendula Babe) and Sydney (Sea Sailor See).

What age is Blythe?

Featuring Ingrid (Lavendula Babe) in her stock boots and a dress from Craftsman Dolls on Etsy.

I always imagine Blythe as in her twenties, maybe older. I don’t see her as a young girl or teenager; to me, her style is too sophisticated for that. I don’t personally collect or feel drawn to baby dolls or dolls that look like children, and one of the things that first drew to me to Blythe was that I immediately interpreted her as a grown up. But maybe that’s because I started coveting these dolls in my teenage years and ultimately collecting in my 30s?

So I’m curious: how old were you when you started collecting, and how old do you think Blythe is? I have such strong head canon around this I’m excited to hear other people’s ideas.

Mod Molly is one of my favorite dolls because I love the way she photographs. Her bangs are also, in my opinion, the best bangs in my entire Blythe collection. I’ve washed her hair a couple of times but I haven’t been able to get it completely straight and it still ends up drying with a bit of a dent.

I’m very excited because my new girl, Bling Bling Party Fur (this name never fails to crack me up) is out for delivery right now! I thought she wouldn’t be here until next week.

I was originally drawn to Les Jeunette because her stock outfit reminded me of millennial twee fashion blogging in the early aughts. But for some reason, I’ve never been able to get pics of her in her stock outfit that look right to me. (Should we have a thread about which dolls we find hardest to photograph for whatever reason?)

I found this Float Away Dream stock on Mercari and am thrilled with how it looks on her!

Have you done any stock outfit switches like this with your collection, or do you tend to mix and match pieces?
