Happy Friday! Time for Blythe Chat!

Goooood Morning (from where I am)! Did you see Manda this morning? 27,000 for Parson Grace and 50,000 JPY for Angelica are they out of their minds?! I’m hanging out with Bia this morning, after breakfast I will probably put her in her little Alice outfit. Do you have any plans for the weekend? What sorts of things are on your mind? Let’s chat!

Ambrosial - Bia Arrives!

Bia is here! The first thing that happened to her was she got her head cracked open and a new body to replace her badly stained one... I can't imagine those black clothes would leave any Ambrosial unscathed. I also washed her hair with Pink Zote mixed with Purple Shampoo and I can definitely confirm for anyone who wondered, no the purple shampoo does not do anything to non-porous "hair." She smells heavenly now though! Her hair is amazingly soft and it's very thin and light, making it a dream to pose. I love her, I can't stop cuddling her like a kitten.

You are going to see Bia in this dress again almost immediately as I will be posting part II of Sewing with Saf for trimming this dress. I hope you like it and find it helpful/inspiring!

Matching outfits from Dear Darling

I’ve been wanting to post pics of these matching Dear Darling sets for a while, and the weather was finally nice today. This summer, I want to push myself to take more pictures of my dolls, take more interesting pictures of 2 or more dolls together, and find some more interesting backgrounds and set ups for photos.

I ordered these sets on a whim from Junie Moon after I got my tax refund (lol), and they are very cute and well made but with shipping and tariff fees, I’m not sure I consider them worth the price. However, I love the colors and think they look great with these dolls (Lavendula Babe in blue and Bling Bling Party Fur in mustard).

We Need to Know! - Your Wednesday Report <3

  • Coming to you live from the heart of r/Blythe, it is We Need to Know! Your Wednesday Report. We finally saw some interesting activity on Mandarake this morning with several items of moderate rarity posted to contemplate, however the prices, our sources tell us, are high... Three popular girls and one who is ascending are up for grabs if you have deep pockets: Adachi Yumi Blythe Amour, Heavenly Strawberry (with hair and stock and a box this time!), Silent Lucretia (Torquesia???), and Juliete's Choice. While they are too rich for this poor reporter's blood, it will be interesting to see if they all move on later today. This is a developing story!
  • Moving on to our next story, the 2005 Blythe Bracket has two contenders for the top with the dominant V-Smash trying to bat away her stiff competition in official Mini-Me Tommy February 6... if you haven't voted yet, it is important to do that as the next Blythe Bracket will be posting tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st! https://www.reddit.com/r/blythe/comments/1thndap/b_l_y_t_h_e_b_r_a_c_k_e_t_2005/
  • And now a public service announcement from our sponsors: Our humble subreddit's numbers are going down. Please try to maintain the practice of upvoting all posts and comments and we encourage any of you who are thinking about posting but haven't yet to please do so. These small habits are what make our content visible to new redditors who are trying to find Blythe and they really do make a huge difference. Thank you for your kind attention in this matter!
  • And now our top story, we are coming to you, the community pillars of r/Blythe because we simply NEED TO KNOW:

What is your favorite Mold and Why?

Sewing with Saf - Regency Inspired Gown

I had tried to post this live earlier but it wouldn’t take! I am going to post it retroactively using photos I took as I went, it might even be better this way!

I am making a regency inspired gown for Bia (Ambrosial) who should be arriving later this week! I will be using a modified version of this pattern: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1869186390/pdf-pattern-to-make-the-models-of-the

I am shooting for something similar to the concept art of Chii from Chobits in the top left hand corner and I think we can get pretty close! Let’s go!

We Want You to Meet... Denizens of the Lake - Christina the Bride!

Welcome to the next edition of our series Meet Blythe. The focus of this series is to highlight one special girl per post from the over 300 official stock releases throughout the years. We want you to meet Denizens of the Lake - Christina the Bride!

There were two Anniversary dolls released for the 7th, today's girl is on the right in her stock

^(Photo @ blogger_blythe via instagram)

Christina the Bride is one half of the set of two anniversary dolls released in the year 2008 for Neo Blythe's 7th year. She retailed at a steep 27,300 JPY and came in a box that was designed to look like a leather bound book inside of a slipcover. There were only 1,004 of each of these dolls produced and they were given serial numbers printed on what CWC described as a bookmark but is actually a brown oval made of card-stock with a bit of ribbon attached. In addition to the two full sized dolls, there were also three petite Blythes in the series released for the 7th Anniversary.

According to the official Japanese Blythe collecting books, Christina was named after a friend of Junko Wong, a fan of Neo Blythe, and she got married the year the doll was released, inspiring the story and name of the doll. The boxes were printed with an original fairy tale story written to celebrate the 7th Anniversary. Christina's stock featured a removable bridal underskirt that could be removed to change her stock wedding dress into a short party frock.

Christina has quite a few "special specifications." She has all four eyechips created for her: Yellow (right), Light Purple (left), Light Brown, and Green Blue. Her pullring is a milk pink color with a Tiffany Blue ribbon bow affixed to it. Her eyelids are in a special beige molding color and have a dark brown eyeliner, the lashes are upgraded. She has a bit of pearl eyeshadow under the eyes as well. Christina the Bride features the SBL mold. Her gaze is more downcast than otherwise.

Radio Interview with Me concerning Blythe

This makes an interesting counterpoint to the Harper’s Bazaar interview with Petra Collins from over the weekend, but keep in mind that this was not at all scripted, I just had to spin this stuff on demand from memory haha. It probably could have been more polished. I hope you enjoy learning more about me and my friend Nero. <3
