Waiting game adventures

I know I am fortunate that my DACA is still active that allowed me to travel. I submitted my case already like many of us everything is up in the air and have been just watching paint dry.

I unfortunately suffered a panic attack during the first day of my vacation because I was stressed and was so afraid of the unknown. I was constantly checking my USCIS account for any silent approvals and latched on to any API movement like I’m neurotic; my mental health crashed and burned because of it. I cried while waiting to pay for lobster rolls (lol) with my parents who grounded and assured me things will be okay (I hope). I had a good cry that moment and did ease the pit that was sitting on my chest. I’m still confused and upset on why there are still approvals pending before me and why there were already approvals after me.

I went to Bar Harbor, Maine for the second time almost two weeks ago. The leaves were changing color and I had my fill of lobsters and blueberry lemonade until the cows go home. I did my first baby hike and walked trails that gave me some semblance of peace and appreciated nature. Saw a sunrise in Cadillac Mountain and harbor seals splashing about the Gulf of Maine. My wallet is crying but hey I think everyone’s in the same boat.

I’ve been just listening to St. Miss Dolly Parton (RIP)’s song constantly and I think it’s an apt song from all the bullshit going on right now.

Anyway, I love you all and let’s all be kind to ourselves (and each other).

Weather

So, we’re having a trip from 9/25-10/2. Very excited but the weather seems to be gloomy during that time. Any advice to make the most out of it? We were going to hit some mild trails and just wandering around PLR.

anxiety

So my renewal is soon, I have worked with my lawyer and they stated they will also write for an expedite request. Plus my anxiety for my trip next month is affecting me with the recent news of people in airports. While I still have valid DACA, I have no deportation orders, and have good support, I have been having panic attacks, especially with an overstay. I have read comments and listened to immigration lawyers giving assurances but I just am fucking tired of being afraid.

DACA recipient traveling

Hi,

My family and I are going to Maine at the end of September. I am extra worried because of the increased presence of 🧊in the airports. I entered here with an overstayed visa, been DACA since day 1, and my renewal window starts next month (i know, i know… file early. I’ve yelled at my lawyer but they wouldn’t budge. I want to file on my own but I have anxiety and my mom as well). I have a FL Real ID, and my DACA is still valid until 1/2027. Will be traveling from MCO to BGR and BGR to MCO. I do not have a criminal background except for a recent traffic ticket.

My lawyer is telling me to travel at my own discretion but I was looking forward to this trip, now I am scared.

Ticket not showing up in system

I’m dumb and I got a ticket for “not staying in a single lane” (had a migraine) Thursday morning; I also do not need to go to court (thankfully). I’ve been checking the county clerk website almost hourly for the last 24 hours and it is still not showing up. I don’t have time to go to the clerk’s office until this coming Friday and I’m just nervous as hell because I have anxiety. I couldn’t sleep soundly at all.

Driving Citation

So I got stopped for “driving recklessly” (merging i guess??). The trooper stated that I almost hit him but my anxiety just was in haywire so I’m still discombobulated.

I was hit a fine and a ticket plus driving school.

What should I do? Will this affect my renewal? Should I ask my lawyer?

EDIT: I’m in Florida and it’s says on the ticket “non-criminal traffic infraction”

Any tips and tricks…? We’ve been trying to get reservations since we went last year but no luck. We’re coming back again this year so any magic tricks I need to do? Do I need to the boogie? Say Miska, Mouska, Mickey Mouse???

Non-resident fee

My family and I are planning to go to Acadia this early fall. With the recent changes, I’m quite panicked about it. We will be there for a week and I’m stressed about the fees! My dad is a US citizen, my mom is a GC holder, and I have a work permit(DACA/Dreamer). So should I just get the $250 annual pass or my dad can buy the resident one and would I be covered for that?
