Question

I got my Halloween moon crab back in may. He was eating every night/ every other night and then stopped about a week in. Buried himself and every once in a while I’d see him through the glass but I just left him alone cause I know that was the right approach. I stopped seeing him fully around the start of june. Thought he could be molting so I left him alone. Tonight I finally decided to just dig around and have a look because I was getting worried- 0 signs of life other than the absence of a bad smell. When I removed the bowl he was hiding under, he stood up and just stared at me then retreated to a little corner and is just now chilling. 0 signs of a molt taking place. I offered food in his regular bowl. What should I do? Seems like he’s okay, and I know they can go a bit without food but this seems excessive. (I’ve been offering food this whole time, too, btw. It’s always left untouched) I won’t disturb him again, but I’m very confused. Any ideas? Insights? Advice? Is he going to molt soon and I disrupted the process?

Help to ID/ Authenticate!

Hiking by the beach in socal and found these! Right along the trail. There were a bunch, these are only some pics. Last pic is of the area it was found in. Are these legit? If so, what kind?
