Explosion at Myrtle Wyckoff?

Was traveling from Halsey to Manhattan around 7pm tonight and only got halfway to Myrtle before they said there was an explosion and fire? We reversed back to Halsey.

Anyone know what happened? They said at first it was a broken train and then all of a sudden there’s an explosion so it was very confusing.

Losing my mind

This is mostly a rant because I was just told I didn’t get an apartment I applied for a week ago on the day it was listed and before the actual open house.

I’ve been looking for an apartment since FEBRUARY.

I’m moving from out of state so often I will apply sight unseen after notifying the agent. I lived in NYC before for 5 years and am relocating back for a new job. I’ve lived in areas I’m applying to and I know what I want.

Usually I apply the day the listings go live, in the morning. I make 160k, credit is 780+, never missed a rent payment in my life, yet I keep getting rejected and I have no clue why. The apartments I’m applying to are usually $2900, it’s not like I’m applying for things out of range.

Maybe it’s just a lot more people applying on day 1 than I imagine but it’s just insane to me how long it’s taken and the lack of communication from realtors and brokers.

Is this normal??

$115 just in fees to apply is crazy to me. That’s not put toward any down payment??
