Giornata GDR a Udine

[Free tool] Daggerheart character builder — no login, works offline, open source

Switching my D&D group to Daggerheart soon (mostly new-ish players, first time trying a different system), and I wanted a simple way to build and track characters without asking everyone to sign up for something or buy an app. Ended up building this over a few evenings and figured I'd share it in case it's useful to anyone else going through the same switch.

What it does:

- Browse all 189 domain cards, filter by domain/type/level, build a 5-card loadout + vault

- Character creator that follows the Core Rulebook's 9 steps exactly — class/subclass, mixed or pure ancestry, community, the fixed trait array, equipment, background, experiences, domain cards, connections. Same hard rules the book has (e.g. you genuinely can't take two features from the same ancestry if you go mixed).

- Full leveling system, 1–10, with the actual tier/slot rules from the advancement chapter (this part turned out to be way fiddlier to implement correctly than I expected — multiclassing is the one thing I skipped, it's rare enough and would've doubled the complexity)

- Save multiple characters, and export a CSV summary for your GM

- Will implement H&F extension when my order arrives :)

No login, no backend — it's a static page, everything lives in your browser's local storage. Clone it and run a local server, or download and open it.

About the card art — I own the Core Rulebook (physical + PDF), so on my own local copy the cards show the real card art. I'm not shipping that here though: under Darrington Press's community license, artwork is explicitly not something you're allowed to redistribute, fan project or not. So the public version renders every card as a clean text-only fallback instead (full rules text, just no illustration). If you own the book too, the "full art cards" pages in the back use a fixed grid layout, so with a bit of scripting you could crop your own copy for personal local use — just keep it on your machine, don't post it anywhere.

Repo's here if you want to poke at it or use it: https://github.com/vietts/daggerheart-character-builder

Genuinely curious if this is useful to anyone or if there's already a better version of this floating around — first time sharing something like this, so any feedback (including "this already exists and is better, here's the link") is welcome.

Åland Islands bikepacking + packraft

Hi everyone, I'm planning a short trip in the Åland Islands with the main objective of using the packraft and the bike for inland transfers.

https://preview.redd.it/6wwjjru66cgh1.png?width=940&format=png&auto=webp&s=ceab29f9392d67f6a92126a33c42a1997eda9453

I have sketched a route crossing the northern part - staying close to the coast - but I can't find much info online. Is it worth it? Or should I aim for the Brändö area?

I can easily do 100km a day (I will have a backpack too for the paddle and packraft stuff) and paddle for 15km to enjoy the view. The scope is to relax.

I have 6 days of cycling/kayaking; the rest is for transfers to/from Stockholm.

Thanks!
