Building is easy now, marketing difficulty increased tenfold...

I, like most in this sub probably want to have their own thing running and paying the bills with it. I'm sure some of the people in this sub have succeeded, but 99% of us are still chasing the dream.

Every time I finish building an app I do a bit of outreach/content then quit and start building something else. It's good for my dev skills, but I want to end this cycle.

You can't scale fast without spending money on ads, burner domains, email campaigns etc. (emails end in spam folder, ads get ignored and make you banckrupt)

It helps to make some SEO articles (product vs product, problem and solution type of articles), making content on social media. This takes quite a lot of time and constant work.

A lot of time it takes as well to DM people. Social media platforms limits you sending messages (especially LinkedIn where they push Sales Navigator hard). DMs to stranges ends up in a hidden requests tab and they will not be read.

Not to mention all these layoffs generated tons of talented devs go on indie-hacking route thus increasing the competition in this space.

Question for you guys:

When to abandon an idea to not fall into sunk cost fallacy? 1-3 years? 6 months? What if you get some sales, but just by luck.

Has anyone tried G4brym/django-cf (sqlitedb and storage) on Cloudflare?

Does anyone have an app in production running on Cloudflare's SQlite db? More specifically using this library? Is it working well? Have you found any hard limitations?

Django with Alpinejs and HTMX works great with AI agents

In the past month I've built a tool for me using Django, Alpine and HTMX. I leaned more than usual on the LLM generating the code from my specs and it worked quite well.

I reviewed the code and from time to time started generating some crap, but I just reviewed the code, told the AI hey "here do this not that" and it was able to correct it.

The fact that Django hasn't change a lot over the years makes it a great tool for pushing rapid development even further.

Imagine working with AI using Nextjs which has n releases with n breaking changes and the LLM starts mixing them together :)) hell

If hardware for AI gets cheaper... I think most of us are cooked..

  • clientul primeste SMS ca trebuie sa completeze formularul X intra in platforma si completeaza formularul.

Can the market take another prospecting/leads tool?

I'm thinking of building a browser extension which can help people gather leads from the internet.

The process is semi-automated you surf the web: facebook groups, google, websites, google maps in search of your ICP and the browser extension parses the html and gives you a clean contact list which you can accept or reject. If you accept the contact information go into Google sheets.

Maybe another feature of this browser extension would be to send automated DMs.

If you have similar products feel free to list them in the comments.
