The hardest part about vestibular migraines is figuring out what actually triggered them

With regular migraines I can sometimes point to one obvious thing, but vestibular migraines feel way harder to figure out. Some days it feels like bad sleep triggered it, other days it might be weather, stress, bright lights, or even busy stores. The dizziness and weird off balance feeling also make it harder to remember how symptoms even started in the first place. Makes tracking patterns feel almost impossible sometimes.

Trying to track vestibular migraines without getting overwhelmed is impossible sometimes

I keep telling myself I should track symptoms better because vestibular migraines are so unpredictable for me, but the second dizziness and brain fog start I stop wanting to log anything. I tried using regular notes apps before and it just became a mess after a few days. Curious what other people here use to keep track of symptoms without making it feel like a full time job.

Bright supermarkets are becoming an instant trigger for me lately

I never paid attention to this before but the last few months those super bright grocery store lights have been destroying me. I’ll walk in feeling fine and 15 minutes later I get eye pressure, neck tightness, and that weird feeling where I know a migraine is building. It’s even worse if I’m already tired or skipped a meal earlier in the day.

I finally noticed one of my biggest migraine triggers

For months I kept saying my migraines were random but apparently terrible sleep + long screen time together is basically guaranteed to trigger one for me now. I started tracking symptoms recently because I was forgetting details constantly. Been using zivora lately just to keep everything in one place and it actually helped me notice patterns faster than I expected. Still annoying though because now I realize how many small things affect migraines.

Does anyone else get migraine hangovers?

Even after the main symptoms are gone, i sometimes feel slow, drained, or mentally off for the rest of the day almost like a hangover, just without the fun part  the headache or main symptoms might be over, but i still feel foggy, low energy, and not fully back to normal. sometimes even simple things feel harder than they should is that common, or do most people feel normal once the migraine itself passes?

Apparently weather changes really can trigger headaches

I always thought people blaming the weather for headaches was kind of exaggerated, but I started tracking mine recently and there’s actually a pattern when the weather suddenly changes or before it rains. Looked it up and apparently barometric pressure changes are a real trigger for some people. Curious how many people here notice the same thing.

Came across someone describing this recently and it stuck with me. Sometimes before any actual dizziness starts, I get this strange disconnected feeling where everything feels slightly harder to process. I can still function normally, but busy places, movement, and screens suddenly feel more overwhelming than usual. It’s not full dizziness yet, which is what makes it so hard to explain.

Has anyone noticed delayed triggers instead of immediate ones

I used to think triggers would cause something almost immediately, but lately it feels like there’s a delay. Something happens one day, and then the effect shows up later instead of right away. That makes it harder to connect cause and effect because it doesn’t feel directly linked in the moment. Curious if anyone else has noticed this kind of delay.

I’ve tried tracking things before, but I always ended up dropping it because it felt like too much to think about, especially when that off feeling starts. It’s hard to stay consistent when you’re not fully focused.
Recently I started using an app called zivora mainly because it’s quick and doesn’t take much effort. I just log simple stuff like sleep, meals, or how I’m feeling without going into too much detail in the moment. Looking back at a few days together makes more sense than trying to figure everything out while it’s happening.
It’s still not perfect, but it feels a bit less random now.

Every time something starts, I end up thinking back and realizing a few things that might’ve contributed. But in the moment, everything felt normal and I didn’t think much of it. Feels like I’m always understanding it too late. Does it get easier to notice these things earlier or is it always like this?

I’ve had times where something feels like it’s about to start, but it just stays at that level and never fully develops. It’s not strong enough to call it a full episode, but still noticeable. Does this happen to anyone else or is it usually all or nothing?

A few days ago I decided to finally try tracking things properly after hearing it helps. I just started using my notes and writing down stuff like sleep, meals, and timing, but after a couple of days it already feels messy and all over the place. Sometimes I forget to log, and other times I’m not even sure what actually matters to write down.

Now I’m just looking at it thinking this probably isn’t the best way to do it. Do you guys use anything specific for tracking or just stick with notes?

I keep thinking about tracking things to understand patterns better, but every time I try I drop it after a few days. Either I forget or it just feels like too much to keep up with. Makes me wonder if it even works unless you’re super consistent with it. I came across some discussions in migrainetriggers and it made me realize I’m probably missing patterns by stopping early. Has anyone here actually managed to stick with it long enough to notice anything useful?

For a long time I kept trying to blame one thing for my headaches, like lack of sleep or too much screen time. But lately it feels more like a few smaller things adding up instead of one clear cause. I only started noticing it after tracking a few days together using an app. I’ve been using “Zivora” just to log things like sleep, meals, screen time and timing, and it made me realize I was missing a lot when I looked at just one day. Now it’s still not super clear, but it feels a bit less confusing than before. Does anyone else feel like it’s more of a combination rather than one trigger?

Lately I’ve been getting this weird off balance feeling where nothing is actually spinning, it just feels like I’m not fully steady. like I can walk and do normal things but something feels slightly off the whole time. it comes and goes and sometimes lasts longer than I expect. What confuses me is it doesn’t always turn into anything worse, it just stays at that level and then fades. makes it hard to understand what it even is or what leads to it. Does anyone else get this kind of feeling without full dizziness?

I sometimes get a small feeling like something might start, but I still ignore it and continue my day. Then later it actually happens and I realize I probably felt it earlier. Not sure why I do that every time. Does anyone else do this too?

Usually it just feels like my vision is off before it starts, but today I noticed random colored patches, kind of pink/orange and moving slightly. it didn’t last long but it felt different from what I normally get, then everything followed like usual. not sure if this is normal or just a one-time thing, anyone else get this?

Sometimes I feel like I’m just not noticing the real triggers at all. like I’ll think it’s one thing, but then it happens again without that same thing being there. so either I’m wrong or I’m missing something else completely.

It’s kind of frustrating because it feels like the answer is there somewhere, just not obvious enough to catch. makes me second guess everything I think I’ve figured out.

Does anyone else feel like this where you know there’s a pattern but you just can’t fully see it?

Been noticing this pattern where a heavy low mood hits, and then a migraine follows (or sometimes both at the same time). Not sure if the mood is triggering the migraine or if the migraine is causing the mood shift. It doesn’t feel like just reacting to pain, more like both happen together. Anyone else noticed this? Which one comes first for you?
