Port placement

This morning I go for my port placement. I’m terrified. I’m scared to go. Is it frightening? Does it hurt? Please share your experiences is it going to be sore? They’re planning to start chemotherapy tomorrow using the port. I hope it’s not sore.

Oral chemotherapy

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between oral chemotherapy and infusions? Does one work better than the other? Does one have less side effects? Does your hair fall out with oral please share.

I’m terrified

Well, the day has come they booked my appointment for my first infusion. I am 100% terrified. I’m so upset about this. I only have days left with my hair before I have to say goodbye. I can’t believe this. None of this feels real. I’m frightened. I’m sad. I’m angry and I can’t believe in a couple of days I have to do this.

Depression

I’m in such serious depression. I have no energy all I want to do is sit on the sofa all day and not get up and not go anywhere. This breast cancer diagnosis has destroyed me. I have terrible depression and I feel lethargic all the time I have to start chemotherapy and go to reconstruction appointments and I can’t even move off the sofa. I don’t know how I’m going to make it to these appointments and treatment. I’m already on an antidepressant has anyone else felt this way after their cancer diagnosis?

How do I look at myself?

Hi everyone, DCIS stage 0 and invasive HER2 grade 1 Friday I had a single mastectomy to flat leaving the other breast a C cup, I cried the whole time from the minute I woke up that morning until the general anesthetic took effect. I was told I woke up from the surgery crying. I was given no choice. I wanted to have double mastectomy, but I was told I do not have a choice in the matter and I was denied a double mastectomy soon it will be time for me to take my first shower and to see the aftermath and I’m terrified I don’t know how I’m going to bring myself to look and to touch it when I shower. Has anyone else have had the same or similar situation? I’m terrified to look at myself. When I woke up from surgery they had a binder on me and my shirt was already put on so I haven’t seen anything looking down at my shirt I can see my breast is missing has anyone else been in this situation? How do I handle looking and touching for the first time?

I’m devastated

It doesn’t feel real They’re doing a single mastectomy to flat and leaving the other side of C cup they’re refusing to do a double mastectomy because they said it will delay my chemotherapy because a healing time is longer if they do a double so I’m only going to have one breast for an entire year and I have to have one year of chemotherapy so I’m going to have only one breast and no hair. I feel like I’m going to be a freak show a circus sideshow I’m devastated.
