Catastrophic print fail on the U1

Greetings all, I have had my U1 for about 4 months now and an getting a bit frustrated with all the babysitting I have to do with the printer. Most of the issues I have been able to fix on my own but this one is something that I wanted to make sure to get help with.

As you can see the printer looks like it failed 20% into the print and just continued on its way like there was no issue only to finally detect an error when it tried to put the tool head away.

The irony here is that I was printing calibration tags because as I said, the u1 has been so unreliable I wanted to try and see what adjustments I could make in order to try and dial it in better than the auto settings do.

I thought there was some sort of AI error detection or something? It has detected spaghetti very very late but did catch it a few times, but this seems like a pretty big issue to not catch! The crazy thing is that this should have been extremely easy to catch because the tool head would have been several millimeters too high smashing against the bed.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm not sure what to do other than to heat up the nozzle or take a blow torch to the thing at this point 😢
