Merging 35mm scans
Hi guys. So i've been developing and scanning my own B&W for some months now. I do it with a DSLR on a light pad with a piece of glass to keep it flat, and macro extension tubes. The camera is a 12MP Sony A700 (all i have). But i recently saw this trick of taking multiple pictures closer in on the negative, and then merging them in LightRoom for a "higher megapixel scan". I tried to google about it but can't really find anything. So i was curious if any of you is doing this or is familiar with the method and, if its worth it. I was thinking of splitting my scan with a 2 photo/per exposure frame of the negative and then merge them for a possible way better scan? What do you think? Thanks!
