i don’t think heaven or hell are actual places, they’re more of a state of consciousness. if you’re someone who’s consumed by guilt, shame, hatred, fear, uncontrollable cravings etc. then you’re ALREADY in hell. as a contrary, someone who experiences inner peace, love, freedom and acceptance is in heaven even if they’re in harsh circumstances. this is a part of why i think people turn to religion after doing terrible things. it’s simply to cope. because even if people can judge you, god won’t judge you. you can be a killer, a 🍇ist literally anything and if you repent, god will forgive you for everything you did without any accountability for your actions.

that said, i personally don’t think everyone who does bad things experience hell because of many reasons one of them is feeling numbness and justifying their harmful actions so thoroughly that they don’t feel any guilt. because they simply don’t see that they’ve done anything wrong.

the moral of the story, hell is more of what you experience and FEEL than it is a real place. your choices and how you live, your morals and actions are what determines if you end up experiencing hell or heaven as a state of consciousness. and… you don’t actually need a religion to be a good person with morals and integrity lol. don’t be imprisoned by your mind. you’re more in control than you realize. that was my TED talk for today ✌🏻
