Text bug with original Age of Empires 2 on Windows 11

Hello

I installed the DVD version of Age of Empires Collector's Edition on my PC that is running on Windows 11 (this version comes with a single DVD that includes AoE 1 + 2 and their respective expansions, ad infamously has no CD Audio soundtrack for AoE 2)

I only installed Age of Kings so far.

I have these weird color and text bugs. I have no issue on launching the game though.

- instructions (campaign mode) and descriptions are in a textbox with blue blackground

- unit descriptions textboxes in the tech tree are plain black

I think the game has compatibiliy issues with my PC configuration but I can't find a fix. I looked everywhere on the web and I can't find a single other person that is facing the same issue.

Is there any solution ??
