Found a plain Aerogramme kept safely by my grandmother, during the annual home cleaning season.

It celebrates the 25th Independence Day of India, and has an 85paise stamp printed on it.

So I sent my first ever international letter to a beautiful friend in Italy!

I had sent it via a local sub post office in a Tier 3 town. The postal staff advised me to stick Rs70 worth of stamps (she said it’s Rs60 but just to be safe).

I went along with it, because I didn’t know the weight of the letter (assuming it was >20gms) and wanted to maximize the chances of it reaching.

I posted it on 12 Sept, and it must have reached last week (my friend was out of town and she returned home only two days ago).

I honestly had no idea that it ACTUALLY WOULD reach! Also, I’d been badmouthing the service the past few days so this was a pleasant surprise haha!

I told my friend “If it’s meant to be, it will be” while not fully convinced it myself. I had forgotten about it completely when this afternoon a message popped up with this super cute update.

What a journey that letter has been through. From a small town in India to a city in Italy. Much like our friendship, this letter ending up at its destination, was unexpected!

This kind of proved to me, that indeed, if it’s meant to be, it will be!
