living separately or together?

is asking to live separately from my inlaws a bad thing? acc to my ex, it was.

i'm still young but i have no desire to live with my in laws. even if they love me, i still prefer to stay separate for a list of reasons.

first of all, privacy, romantic reasons etc.

second, privacy again, freedom to dress however i want. i literally cant stay in long pants in my home, i need to wear shorts but it feels so weird wearing them infront of anyone but my parents. i dont even wear it out.

then, chores ig. i do it at my home but my parents help as well. if i live in my inlaws, im not sure what kind of expectations they would have on me. and obv indian moms would feel bad if i made their son do work around the house.

and then, i feel typically in love marriages compared to AM, the wife has to prove her worth. most of the times by doing chores etc else she'll be looked down upon? based on what i heard.

anyways, as i said, even if they love me and respect me, i will love and respect them as well but i really prefer living separately.

when this came up between me and my ex, he lashed out saying i'm separating him from his parents etc. thats the reason we broke up. i dont have freedom in my home rn (going outside with friends or wherever i want). if i lived separately in the future with my husband i think we could go anywhere without anyone asking anything?

he also asked me to compromise saying we will move out after having kids but then whats the point lol. i need freedom thats all.

if u feel im wrong, please correct me. its not like im not family oriented, i am. i just chose myself.

need some guidance

hii!! i'm gonna start my 3rd year ise in a month, i've got holidays now. i'm not interested in becoming an engineer, i wanna become a lecturer. i wanna pursue mtech and i'm from karnataka so we have pgcet, i also wanna write gate.

i need some guidance, i wont attend any offline classes and i wont take a drop for gate. i dont wanna prep for gate alongside my job bcs im not interested in getting one in IT field. i wanna know if the syllabus of gate & pgcet are common? ik gate is tougher than pgect.

i also dont know how to start. ik basics of math, dbms, os, digital logic, c lang and dsa. not very in depth but wtvr i learnt for my sem exams.

i also wanna know when do i start preparing for aptitude?

i've got so many questions and its a huge cluster in my mind. i'd really appreciate someone explaining it to me. i'm not really that street smart so forgive if i've said smtg incorrect.

also, i don't think i can buy any paid courses. so can someone suggest any good yt channels?

thank you!
