To start I'll say he has been to the vet a few times this week and has had xrays and exams. Hes been diagnosed with gastro inflammation and is on pain medication and appetite enhancer goo. Vet says to keep trying to get him to eat and to monitor him throughout the days. I'm not asking for medical advice, just searching for more tips on how to get him some calories so we dont have to put him through even more stress of a feeding tube.

So far he sniffs everything we try to give him and recoils as if its disgusting, and attempts to bury it if left in his bowl. We have tried kibble, wet food, vet perscribed wet food, tubes, freese dried treats, and lickable spoons. So far the only calories hes getting is from us essentially force feeding him, but that causes so much stress that we really dont want to do that more than we have to to help him get calories.
