Starting University? READ THIS!.
*I wrote something for people entering the university phase of their life. Hope it helps yall. Questions are very much welcome.*
First things first, Put a smile on your face, be humble, be respectful. Ignore the bad, acknowledge the good. Try to complain as little as possible. Respect women, treat them as humans. Dont fall in love, don't go after someone. Your uni time is for you to learn and grow yourself, not for you to fulfill you romantic fantasies. Socialise, make friends of both genders. Life is as fun as your group of friends. Someone once said "Enjoy karo gay to maza aye ga" sounds like gibberish but works surprisingly well.
Step 1: Studies.
It isn't that complicated. Teachers share lecture slides and each lecture is given through those lecture slides. The best approach is to listen carefully in the class and make notes. Then revise at home. If you do this daily you will perform better than 80% of the students there. Uni course isnt that complicated every quiz assignment mids ot finals comes from the concepts explained in the lecture slides or the lecture that the teacher gives. Uni is way easier than college the syllabus isn't that lengthy too. If you study for 1-2 hours daily you will find it very easy.
Step 2: Teachers.
Socialise with the teachers, visit their office in the second week let them know you are eager to learn and ask them for tips or resources to help master the course, you presence should be acknowledged.
Step 3: Groups.
You will need to form groups for projects and group tasks. Try to form a group with people who will work and will be fun to work with. University groups will teach you a lot expect some drama.
Step 4: Skills.
Now that covers the syllabus part. To excel in your specific field you need to do some extra curricular research in that field. Look for domains, courses and skills and try to learn them. Then learn how does market respond to that skill. Pick anything and dive headfirst. Practice by making personal projects.
Step 5: Extracurricular.
Chances are you will wanna join a club. Join it, dont mind the "free ki mazdori" you will be doing at the start. But beware of some fazool people. Attend events, participate in events.
Now here comes in the socialising with teachers part. Let them know what extracurricular field related work you have been researching/pursuing. Teachers are excellent connections as they already have tons of connections and will want to help you.
Connect with seniors, not the wannabe types but the actual working seniors who are performing extraordinarily. Connect with them, market your skill.
Above all dont let anyone demotivate you. 7 out of ten people will demotivate you, ridicule you or would try to convince you that what you are doing isn't worth anything but dont listen to them, Trust in yourself and trust in Allah.
If you manage to do these things you will excel easily not only in uni but also in your field.
Apologies for the bad writing, if you want me to delve deeper in a particular topic feel free to ask.
Goodluck.
