Since there isnt any native night light feature for PopOS and Redshift doesnt work with Wayland, I had created the following for those that need to save their eyes for those late night coding binges.
Good morning everyone. For the last few years I have been running Ubuntu and Linux Mint on my X1 Gen 2. My daughter is recently about to go to college, and needs a Windows or Mac for her school. I had decided I was going to upgrade, and she can get this very capable machine for her work.
This being said, I had bought a license for Windows 11 pro, and created and installation media (25H2). Upon rebooting and getting to the Windows installation, it appears that it cannot detect the drive and that there are drivers that need to be loaded. Upon going to the vendors website, I see a bunch of .exe installs for drivers which is making the assumption that windows is already loaded on the machine and I am to be able to just double click and run these.
My question becomes- how am I supposed to be getting the drivers from the manufacturer website loaded onto a USB so I can select them during the installation progress? I cannot believe it is 2026 and Microsoft isnt supporting the storage drivers to simply get windows installed on a machine so that it can update itself once the system is booted.
Any advice would be appreciated.
