I went into a large corporate convenience store/gas chain in Maryland to purchase spit free nicotine pouches before going to the gym

The lady asked for my ID, I informed her I was not comfortable with it being scanned, but that she could look at it to confirm dob.

She said OK, so I handed her my ID.

She immediately scanned it & told me it was "policy"

She tricked me, I did not consent.

Does policy exceed law?

What can/should I do?
