help writing a legal storyline for my game's script?

hi! i'm writing the script for a game about a young solo criminal defense attorney moving back home after making an immoral choice that leads to the death of an innocent person. the idea was that he agrees to get a criminal gang leader off the hook for their crimes, with the promise of a large bribe after the job is done. he uses some shady techniques and ultimately does get his client off the hook, but the gang leader screws him over and doesn't deliver the money in the end.

i don't know much about the law, but i do know that there are definitely holes in this plot. the biggest issue is that i do not plan to have him be held *legally* accountable for his actions by the end of the game, but i also don't want the audience to feel like he's some runaway criminal getting away with doing a bunch of illegal shit that he should really not get away with. how do i make his actions feel shady enough that the audience views it as scummy and immoral, but legal enough that he could realistically get away with it? are there any loopholes or anything he could exploit? obviously it's a video game so it doesn't have to be 100% accurate or believable, but i want it to feel like it is generally based in reality. if it helps to know, the story is set in a state that is loosely based on oklahoma, so oklahoma law should be applied to whatever he does.

advice for my husband??

hi!! my husband is painting a crow as a birthday gift for my mom. he is insisting that it looks bad and "amateurish". i think it's really really good already, but maybe if he had some finishing touches he could add he'd feel a bit better about it? what could he realistically do now to improve the painting? he's using acrylics and oil pastels.
