as a beginner, I used to think web crawling and search were basically the same thing. after reading more, I realized crawling is about collecting the web data, while search is about finding the most relevant information from that data.

it made a lot more sense why tools like Firecrawl and Exa are often used for different parts of an AI workflow.

what concept clicked for you when you first started looking into AI search?

Lately, im reading more about investment banking, equity research, sales & trading, and corporate banking, Im realizing they are often grouped together but require very different skills and personalities.

As someone just getting into these AI tools, I learned that choosing a search API is not about finding the best one, it's about finding the right one for your project or work or whatever. Reading about web crawling, indexing, and retrieval has made me appreciate how much happens before an AI even gets an answer. anyone else here learning this stuff from scratch?

I recently started using claude and keep seeing people talk about MCP servers. From what I understand, MCP lets claude connect to tools like GitHub, browsers, and local files, but I'm still trying to understand these.
