I never expected UGC to have this much of an impact on my life. When I first started looking into it, I was mostly interested in the idea of having an income stream I could build around my other responsibilities. I wasn’t thinking about a huge campaign or making ridiculous amounts of money from a single project. Just one! I just wanted to see whether creating content could realistically help me support myself.

For some context, I’m living alone now and money has a very different meaning to me. Once you’re responsible for your own place, you notice how many expenses exist outside of rent. There’s electricity, internet, groceries, transportation, household supplies, needs for the apartment, and then the occasional expense that appears out of nowhere that will always ruin your entire budget. I had to become much more conscious of where my money was going, so I couldn't continue a day without having work.

i landed this one campaign and it was significantly larger than the UGC projects I had been looking at before. There were multiple pieces of content involved and it's not really an easy one. It was a lot of work over 3 months.

To be clear, this is not a standard UGC rate. It was a particularly large campaign, and I know that’s very different from what a beginner might normally encounter. Still, seeing that payment come through was insane. I thought about my apartment. That $15K represented months of giving me mental rest.

Sorry for the long vent. I'm just so happy that one project changed what was possible for me financially. I thought I'd earn only $100-$500 for a month but every time I sit in my apartment and remember that the money helping me keep this place came from content I created, I feel so proud of myself.
