I learned how Cambridge students study, it got me a 3.9 GPA.

I learned these tips last year from my auntie, who completed her master's degree at Cambridge. I asked her for tips on how she studied and survived her university journey at Cambridge without burning out.
Here’s what she actually did and these study methods were literally changed how I study:
9-5 mindset. I learned that Cambridge has only 8 week terms, so students treat studying like a full time job. I used to just sit and read notes passively for three hours, but I barely retained anything. Once I adopted the 9-5 structure and studied during office hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), I had a clear cutoff point in the evening to rest and do my hobbies without any guilt.

Practice past papers and active recall. I never thought this would actually help me get A+ grades on my tests/exams. I read through past papers 2-3 times and used active recall by writing down everything I remembered, then checking back against the past papers and notes to fill in the gaps.

Cambridge balance. This was the main reason my aunt survived Cambridge without burning out from studying. She maintained a strict division between work and rest: on workdays, giving full effort was non-negotiable, but on rest days, she relaxed completely. Having this strict division helped avoid the procrastination that leads to all-night cramming sessions, giving my brain the sleep it needed to consolidate study materials into long-term memory.

These tips helped me stay locked in, avoiding procrastination and study far more effectively. Because of structuring my time and studying smarter rather than harder, I managed to consistently study at my best. Honestly it helped me and have a massive change on my study method and got me a 3.9 GPA last semester.

My father is a skilled driver with over 3–4 years of experience operating construction vehicles.

He is currently working at Calaca Power Plant, but the pay there is very minimal and only at a provincial rate, which does not reflect the true value of his skills. In fact, he earned a white cap in less than 2 years, showing his discipline, capability, and strong work ethic. he can drive heavy equipment such as loaders, dump trucks, and other construction vehicles used on site

When he first started, his goal was to complete at least 3 years of experience because a friend in Canada told him that this type of work is in demand there and offers good pay. At that time, the requirement was 3 years, but now many companies are asking for 5 years. Since he already has almost 4 years of solid experience, we are hoping to find a company that accepts applicants with 3–4 years of construction vehicle driving experience. If you know an agency here in the Philippines or direct employer pls comment on this, tyia

Is there anyone else using Gemini or Notebook LM for active recall??

I’ve been trying to turn my notes into questions with Gemini, but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right. How do you guys make it work for recall? Genuinely curious..

DeepSeek just dropped V4-Pro 0813, and it's insanely cheap. They’re so casual about being the most incredible lab out there.

UGC creator for almost a year ($6K/month right now)

I started with little knowledge of what I was doing, what platform to focus on, what type of content to create, and if I should post on Instagram, TikTok. I didn't expect that the hardest part would be deciding how to even start with the small audience I had.

I used to think that creating content itself would be the most difficult part. But over time I began to notice that simpler content about everyday life is what people enjoy watching.

Another thing you need to put the attention are the Hooks (the first few seconds of your video) I used to stress about coming up with something original and creative, but honestly the simplest approach works best:

Find hooks that are already performing well in a completely different niche, and adapt them to yours. It sounds almost too easy, but it works because the psychology behind a good hook is the same regardless of the topic.

After about 6 months, when I had around 5K followers, I started landing my first brand deals through Sideshift. One of those early contracts was a CPM deal $1.50 per 1,000 views and one of the videos from that campaign hit 3 million views, which technically would have been over $4,500, but the contract had a cap, so I ended up getting paid $3,000 from that single video.

That was a turning point, after that video blew up, my profile kept growing and I started hitting over a million views on other videos too and the dynamic shifted, brands began reaching out to me instead of the other way around, this is my portfolio: https://app.sideshift.app/portfolio/cmAdD2RyQVQ934UJuxrJEKmgtUz1

Now, almost a year in, I'm making at least $6,000 a month from brand collaborations. And it still feels organic to me, I post about 4 times a day, and roughly every other day one of those is a collab. It doesn't feel forced because I'm still doing my regular content the rest of the time.

If you're also starting out, my biggest takeaway is you'll figure things out by doing, not by overthinking.

micro-SaaS that auto-files formal noise complaints against illegal party buses

party buses blast subwoofers through luxury suburban corridors at 2 AM and city code enforcement takes weeks to issue fines. built a web tool for HOA boards.

when a party bus rolls through, residents hit a button that logs decibels, pulls vehicle registration, and auto-files formal administrative complaints with the city transit authority. charging HOAs $120/month.

why B2B commercial plumbing suppliers pay double for "silent review" video ads

Stop doing talking-head influencer reviews for industrial products. Last week I shot a 20 second silent review for a commercial fluid valve manufacturer.

No voiceover, no background music. Just iron levers clicking open and shut, brass threads screwing together, tapping the valve housing with a steel wrench to check wall thickness. Contractors watch these on job sites during lunch breaks on their phones. The buyer on site hears the actual mechanism and that's enough to get them calling their supplier.

Sales jumped 18% quarter over quarter after that run. The manufacturer paid me $1,800 for three raw clips.

It's wild how much money people spend on influencers with ring lights for products that are literally just metal and bolts.

Legma vs Polsci for an aspiring FA n pilot✈️

Hi everyone! I could rlly use some advice because I am currently so torn and overthinking my next steps.

To give some context: I just graduated Senior High School and took a gap year this year. My original dream was to take Tourism because I want to become a flight attendant (FA). However, given the current economy, I started second-guessing how practical a Tourism degree is for long-term security. I know that becoming an FA doesn't strictly require a specific course, and you can apply with almost any degree. Because of that, I decided to pivot to my second choice: pre-law. My goals for taking a pre-law course are:

  1. To have strong foundational knowledge about the law before becoming an FA (just something I really want for myself).
  2. To have a solid fallback plan. If I ever decide to quit flying or want a career change, I can easily transition into the corporate world or law practice with a Legma or PolSci degree. Now, my main dilemma is choosing between Legal Management (Legma) and Political Science (PolSci), alongside figuring out which school to go to.

Here are the universities I'm eyeing:

BulSU, UST, and UE: All offer Legal Management (though I know UST is notoriously hard to get into). AdU (Adamson) and PUP: Offered as a more practical choice if I decide to go with Political Science instead.

My questions for you guys:

  1. Between Legal Management and Political Science, which one offers better career flexibility or a stronger fallback if I end up working in the corporate world (or eventually decide on law school)?

  2. Given my goal of wanting to become an FA first before potentially exploring other paths, does one course make more sense than the other?

3.For those familiar with these schools (BulSU, UST, UE, PUP, or AdU), how are their programs, environments, and workloads like for these specific courses? I REALLY NEED YOUR ADVICE BCS, TYIA ANONS!!

physical webcam shutter servo that opens only during active video calls

got paranoid about background webcam telemetry tools on company-issued laptops, but sticky physical camera covers look trashy and wear out after a month.

mounted a micro 5V servo motor and a tiny 3D-printed plastic slide shutter over my laptop webcam lens. hooked the servo to a Raspberry Pi Pico running a lightweight Python process listener. the second Zoom or Teams initiates an active video stream socket, the servo physically slides the shutter open. the moment the call ends, it snaps shut with a crisp mechanical click. total build cost was $8.

‎5 simple ways I make studying actually work

  1. Active recall — Close your notes and try to explain what you remember in a way that makes sense to you. Analyze what you missed or didn’t fully understand.

  2. Practice problems — Don’t just read the examples; solve them yourself.

  3. Teach it out loud or use the Feynman Technique — If you can explain it simply, you probably understand it.

  4. Discover which study techniques work for you — They can vary depending on the subject.

  5. Take useful breaks — Walk, stretch, draw, do a quick hobby, or even take a short nap.

  6. Find an app or website that can help you prepare for quizzes and exams — You can also give Gemini your notes and ask it to create quizzes, practice exercises, real-life examples, or questions based on what you’re struggling with.

I hope this would help!^^
