I'm pretty new to beach volleyball, playing for like 2 years in a moderately competitive league. It isnt called that strictly, but I still want to play by the rules. I have a move when I'm hitting where If there is a strong block and nobody covering tips, rather than swinging hard I'll just let the ball glance off my palm and down into the empty space. It works well for me particularly after I've swung a few times and the defense is expecting more swings. I've gotten mixed feedback, is this a carry? The contact is momentary and I don't push/guide it.
