Hi all I’m putting together a budget desktop setup for mainly music listening on my computer, plus occasional video editing/audio work.
I’m definitely not an audiophile, but I want the best sound I can get for the money and I’ve been researching a bit. I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has tried similar setups.
This is what I’m currently considering:
Option 1:
- Wharfedale Diamond SW-150 Subwoofer
- Fosi Audio ZA3 amplifier
- KEF Q350 speakers
Option 2:
- Wharfedale Diamond SW-150 Subwoofer
- Fosi Audio ZA3 amplifier
- Wharfedale Diamond 12.2i speakers
My questions:
- Has anyone used either of these combinations before?
- Which speakers would you go for in this setup?
- Is the sub necessary, or should I put more budget into better speakers instead?
For context: this will be used at a desk in a relatively small room.
Any advice or alternative suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks!
