I am a few days late on my dogs flea and tick medication. I just found and pulled off what I think is an American dog tick. Does it look like it was on long? I live in Oregon, does anyone know what the likelihood of it having transferred a tick borne illness to my girl is? I think I got all of it out as it is still alive. And I washed the area with soap and water and checked her for additional ticks. I am also about to put on her flea and tick medication. I just want to know how concerned I should be or if anyone thinks I should take additional steps. Thanks!
