Ive given up the pursuit of fish.

I just cant seem to get it right, so after a year, my tank is staying planted.
Honestly, I am happy with that now. After not being able to change the water for the past couple of months, due to drought (uk water restrictions and fluctuating tank temperatures due to heatwaves etc) I decided to forget life stock, and stick to plants. :-) We still a 45 l tank with mollies but mine is just plants. :-) Honestly, Im ok with that. My daughter (Mollies owner) says this reads like an obituary lol, but actually I am just saying it because I come to the realisation I am enjoying just having plants :-) (y)

Carbon brushes

Before I toss it and buy a new one, is there anyway to renew the anti static cleaning ability on one? Mine appears to be not doing the job anymore 😊

Record stabiliser weight

If I were to buy one, what sort of parameters should I be considering?
I have a AT LP120x with the standard green stylus. Some of my older records are the standard vinyl weight and I am wondering if a weight will help with stability etc.
I see that there are a lot of different weights out there, but wondered if there was a good all rounder that would suit a direct drive tt. I dont want to add something that would be too heavy?
Thanks.

Well I finally did it. 😊

It's taken me 5 month to decide what to go for, and when it boiled down to it it was the ability to upgrade stylus and the pitch control. The speakers will do for now. Still debating on floor stands or wall mounts, (space etc being an issue) but for now this is what I've wanted to do for the longest time 😊

Tips please 😊

Finally got an api test kit and honestly, I'm astonished by how far out my stick tests were. So glad y'all drum home the importance on the proper kit!

Anyhow, this is my planted qubiq 30l tank after being running since October. After the nasty shock of the cyanobacteria a few months ago I've been watching it like a hawk. 5l water change every 10 days, and light on for 5 hours a day.

I Bought some floaters and put them in a boom but they haven't done great yet, and there biofilm there with lots of dead leaves(now removed) but we do have shoots as well so not concerned.

I also put in 2 root fertiliser tablets last week.

Still no idea what life stock to put in, if any, I love bettas but...!

I don't want guppies, and shrimps might be too hard as well, so any suggestions? I live in a hard water area of the UK and use fluval water cycle and Aqua plus with water changes.

Thermometer is at 25c, and I use new filter cartridge every 6 weeks or so, always reusing one of the old sponges from the previous one. (supafish qubiq filter built in to the tank)

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Thanks
