Clinicals experience

I'm in my first year of clinicals and I am having a pretty negative experience with one of the techs at my site. She is staying professional enough not to get called out by the supervisors but she has slighted me a few times to try and make me feel as if I won't make it through the program. She has an attitude as if she is all that and a bag of chips and you can't reach her level.

So for starters this tech has never acknowledged me or had anything else to say other than feedback on my x-rays, even after I have tried being friendly to her.

One of the supervisors and I were talking at lunch last week, and she set me up in a quiet room so that I could catch up on my homework. I was in there around an hour and a half, and then back on the floor right after. It is important to note that this day we had all students and staff at the site, plus there were very few x-rays coming in.

I come in the next day and I had asked the tech if I could comp a hand if it came in as I felt ready. She snapped at me and said that I get what comes in, I don't get to choose. I apologized and asked for clarification on how getting comps worked. The tech also said that it wouldn't be fair to my fellow students as they did most of the exams yesterday(not true, I did exams that came in all day minus the 1 hour where honestly only a few came in. When i walked out, the other students were still sitting down about to fall asleep). Right after that a hand requisition comes in. I get up to grab it and perform the x-ray, but she gets it before me, gives it to the student next to me and says "here you get this hand exam." I waited after the exam was complete and a little more calm internally from this unexpected interaction and I pull her aside to clear the air. I let her know that I think there was a misunderstanding with my request and that I was not saying that I will only perform hand exams all day because I want to comp it, and that I am willing to do any exam (which she has worked with me for weeks at this point and knows I don't sit on my butt).

Her response was that one of the second years told her I refused an exam because I had comped it. Not true at all and I showed her the proof that I was the one that did that exam. The director came in and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

I have continued to be friendly with her despite her attitude. She is nonstop flirting with the male techs and friendly to the other female students but hates me for reasons I believe I know, but won't mention here. She favors this one student who is afraid to interact with patients, only wants to watch, and rarely does exams but she makes sure to throw it in my face that she likes her more than me(I'm not going to go into detail of how I know this is what she is doing, it would be way too long).

This has put me in a fight or flight mode and exams that I had no problem with before, I am making tiny mistakes because I am so stressed when she is watching me. I'm trying to keep my composure and not let it get to me. Any advice?

Commercial parking & infant car seats

I wanted to get a poll regarding an issue I have come across for the last 2 years since becoming a mother. Every time I go to the grocery store, even when parked perfectly in the lines it is difficult to load my infants car seat back into the car without dinging the car next to mine or having to seriously figure out a way to maneuver it through a half open door. Forget it completely if the car next to me is parked over the line. If I hadn't had my mom to hold my baby during one incident, while I moved my car to a space with multiple spots open, just to load my baby, I would have been stranded until that vehicle next to me left the parking lot.

I had an idea to propose designated parking spots for expecting mothers (seriously there were times during the end of my last pregnancy where I had to squeeze through the car door to get out😫)and mothers/caregivers in general with young children. I don't think it's right that pregnant women should be forced to park at the farthest side of the lot. I had pubic symphysis dysfunction and holy moly it was almost unbearable to walk longer stretches for a long time. I also think that families with infants and young children should be afforded more convenience when it comes down to loading & unloading their kids. Another point is that vehicles have gotten wider than they were 20 years ago and commercial developments haven't made any adjustments to the width of their parking spaces.

I guess I just want to know if this is a commonly experienced issue by other parents. Let me know if my thinking is ridiculous lol.
