Is it a known bug? Do I need to contact customer support?
Edit: so I restarted my device (15 sec pressed down on power button, then 3 sec hold it down again to power up the rm2) and now it's working normally
For all the doom and gloom scenarios I see on this sub, I thought I'll post something positive which happened today, I have an RM2 which is 2 years old. The eraser and the little plastic protrusion which holds the nib of its marker plus had broken. Considering it an old device I had been using it as such for a bit but then thought I'll try contacting customer care.
Just a quick 10 minute chat with customer care and sending the photos of my marker plus and a replacement has been scheduled. I must say, in an era where companies try to find ways to get out of replacing goods because it's a loss for them no matter how small, such prompt reply and resolution really amazed me! Kudos to the remarkable team. I'm happy that I chose remarkable. The device goes with me everywhere and I'm glad they're also committed to customer satisfaction and after sales service.
I'm a psychologist who uses an RM2 as their primary device for work and leisure (i use password protected pdf template i made for session notes and stuff). Since now my RM2 is out of warranty, I've been wondering if I should try out various mods people on this sub have been talking about.
So here's my question, how difficult is it to mod an RM2 for someone not from a tech background (but who's competent enough with tech to get things done by following instructions)? And what are the risk that it will brick my device - I'd hate to have that happen (other than it being a beautiful piece of hardware, it's also my primary device and I don't want to, nor can I afford to replace it with a new device if I do something stupid and it ends up a brick)
Edit: I did my research and apparently since it's my primary device it's advisable not to use any mods on it for the sake of not risking client confidentiality
For people pointing out/thinking about HIPAA guidelines- I'm not based in USA nor have any clients from USA, for the country I'm currently based in, using rm2 doesn't breach client privacy and confidentiality guidelines along with other reasonable measures to protect their privacy and confidentiality which I'm taking (which go beyond a simple password protected pdf)
Guys I want to put my rank in perspective (my rank in terms of the total Students who appeared) and could you all tell me what rank you got, preferably those who got rank in 4 digits
Anyone has any ideas if the latest 3.28 beta release has begun and if any people in India have got it? Especially on the RM 2 device not the pro or move
I have an rm 2, with the marker plus and type folio the whole setup, it's brilliant for me, touchwood not a single complaint
It's perfect for my use case and I carry it everywhere
Now my question which I think other's might also have
With the RM pure being released and rm2 being discontinued, can I expect to keep recieving software updates on my rm2? And ideally how long? Because I'd hate to give it up and have to upgrade
