I’m looking for some strategic advice on how frequently people upload ongoing relationship evidence for an onshore 820/801 Partner Visa application.

Our timeline and current status:

Application lodged: 2 April 2026 (currently on a Bridging Visa A)

Front-loaded application: We completed and uploaded our health examinations, police clearances, sponsor application, and the majority (if not all) of our supporting relationship evidence at the time of lodgement.

My question relates to ongoing evidence that demonstrates our relationship continues to be genuine and ongoing. For example:

Joint bank statements showing shared expenses, Mortgage and household bill payments, Joint insurance policies and premium payments, Other financial evidence accumulated after lodgement

For those who also front-loaded their application, how often did you upload additional ongoing evidence? Did you do it every few months, only when significant new evidence became available, or wait until requested by the case officer?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and what worked for you.

I currently hold a Subclass 485 visa valid until 15 June. I’ve already lodged a partner visa application (820/801) and have been granted a Bridging Visa A (BVA), which is set to come into effect once my 485 expires.

Due to a family emergency, I had to urgently travel back to overseas. Since there was a chance I might not return before 15 June, I applied for a Bridging Visa B (BVB) just in case.

However, my BVB was refused. The refusal reason stated that I was not in Australia when the application was processed, which is true because I had to leave urgently.

My question is: does a BVB refusal affect my existing BVA in any way? Does the refusal of the BVB automatically cancel or invalidate the BVA attached to my partner visa application?
