2001: A Space Odyssey - The Complete Marvel Comics by Jack Kirby

Scanned from my personal collection and reprinted on a laser jet printer onto matte photo paper. Cover printed on self adhesive vinyl paper. I left out the original ads, but kept letters pages in for context. Minimal clean up of images.

I have a project in mind for a custom bind (that I intend to make myself rather than send the issues to an outside source) which would include single stapled issues and at least one perfect bound/prestige format issue.

Has anyone had any experience binding these types together? I assume the stitched method employed for the single issues where I would pierce a hole and sew would not work with the prestige issues.

My first attempt at binding!

Covers and endpapers designed with a combination of Canva, Pages & Photoshop.

I used double sided 140gsm matt photo paper for the cover after experimenting with a few different types of stock. Didn’t quite get the end papers/cover edges to line up in terms of design.

Now after years of putting off reading the series because of remastered/digital colouring, I have a collection that comes as close as possible to the experience of the original release. Hope it’s good 🤪
