Looking for advice on what worked for you, recovery timeline for mild-moderate concussion

It’s been two days since I was hit in the head and I’m curious how my symptoms compare to others, how your recovery is going, and what you do to stave off boredom. Also, what helps nausea that isn’t medicine? I have no access to medicine for the next 23 hours lol. Google & mayo clinic freaked me out so I thought I would ask real people instead.

Current symptoms:
Headache on left side, head pain on left temple and radiating around area struck, left ear feels strange and full, nausea, light sensitivity, sound sensitive, sense of balance comes and goes. Pressure/ mild pain behind left eye and at the back of my head. I haven’t thrown up again for 8 hours, but it happened many times.

The backstory:
While taking off on a nine hour flight, I was resting with my head down and another passenger dropped a full large metal water bottle on my temple. It was an accident, but it fell from the overhead storage that I was sitting under. I don’t exactly remember it. I just was so confused because I was in pain and everyone around asking if I was okay. Then when I opened my eyes I was scared the flight attendant was trying to kick me off the flight to get EMTs to meet us. I kept saying I was okay and another attendant brought me Tylenol and ice. So I used headphones to noise cancel and covered my head for the next 9 hours while icing off and on. I didn’t want to get stuck in the random layover country, so I boarded the next 3 hour flight then went straight to the hotel. After resting in the dark, I tried to take a small walk after sunset but it didn’t go well. I then started throwing up again. I’m in a small town so there’s no ER and the doctor’s office is closed until Monday. The pharmacy is also closed, so no more Tylenol until Monday 🥲. I’ve slept off and on since it happened with someone checking in every couple of hours. Two hours ago I was able to eat a small amount and kept it down, but it was a struggle since I had to take a short walk. Now I’m back in my hotel room with soft ambient lighting to try and stop the photophobia from getting worse. 12 hours on a plane immediately after concussion was not ideal, so I feel I’ve put back my recovery time.

Violin book for 4 year old

Edit to add: thank you all for your thoughtful responses, I’m slow at replying but I’m looking into the various book suggestions. I don’t have real Suzuki teacher training (maybe someday). I experienced it as a student and am reading everything I can now that I’m teaching. I will follow the idea of playing by ear and the music progression in the book. I’ll also incorporate more games, physical activities, and music that the students already have emotional connections with. I love having a book with pre-reading activities that the child feels they can use somewhat “independently” for activities like coloring or adding stickers to the page. For piano lessons, I’ve had good results and was hoping to find something similar for the violin.
______________

Do you have any book recommendations for a 4 year old that isn’t reading yet? I am a new violin teacher and plan to use Suzuki method but I’m not sure if it is worth having the parent buy the book yet. The child has already been taking piano lessons, but is still very much a beginner. I think having the child look at the Suzuki book will be too overwhelming given his current age, but he does well playing by ear on the piano.

I think it will still be nice to have a book for him to look at and draw in, but I’m not finding any English language books that seem appropriate. “My first violin fun book” doesn’t seem to be a good fit for the 4-5 age group, just based on my understanding. For piano, I use “Piano Safari Friends” and it is highly effective for 4 year olds. I can’t seem to find a violin equivalent.

Maybe not normal? Do bandages do this to you?

I know this technically isn’t food allergy related, but maybe it could be? I know that I react to latex, but I’m pretty sure the allergy clinic uses latex free bandages after their Xolair shots. We’ve talked about it in the past and I would be surprised if they switched. Any other guesses? Perhaps it contains acrylates? What causes your issues?

This always happens and today I realized it probably isn’t normal. Normally the itching and swelling goes away after a day if I take them off after a couple of hours, but it’s now been over 24 hours and still looks like this. If I forget to remove a bandage, it gets gross then scabs. I take so much allergy medication and I’m on Xolair, so it’s extremely difficult for my body to react. I don’t know how to treat it anymore and I’m itchy all through my arms. I already take Zyrtec daily as well, at least 10 mg when I wake up.
