How to watch the 5/20 game against the Fever for FREE on USA Network

Hello. I'm cheap. I mean I'm not super cheap, I paid for League Pass and Fire+, and during the playoffs I subscribe to ESPN Unlimited because I need the live games.

But I'm still pretty cheap. I get why there are so many games on national television. And I don't even mind it when they're on NBC, CBS, ION or ABC.

But having the games on USA Network blows. It's very expensive to get.

But I've found a legal way to get it for one game for free.

DirecTV Streaming offers a 5 day free trial. I signed up for the sports package and I've set an alarm and calendar reminder for 4 days from now to cancel. I'm watching the pre game now.

I downloaded the Google TV (Chromecast) app. I'm sure there's an Apple TV app as well.

Edit: nevermind! Unlike the previous nationally televised game, this game is on local TV and Fire+.

Looking to trade playing cards for debut season pin

I have an extra deck of the Legacy Reignited playing cards and I'm looking to trade it for a debut season pin from the May 12th game. In spite of being there early there were none left by the time we got into the arena. Message me if interested.

My partner and I are STH. I've been emailing my account rep for a month now asking for the DocuSign and they simply will not send it. They emailed a week ago asking for ID to verify my account. I did that immediately and every time I ask if my account is verified they say it's in process. The games are here and I'm still having trouble being able to use our tickets.

The main problem is that my partner can't add the tickets to their Google Wallet (or the 15% member discount) because they are tied to my email specifically. I'm guessing because I still haven't received the DocuSign and my account still isn't verified there is no way to transfer the ticket through Ticketmaster to my partner. This isn't a problem if we're both at the game together but this Sunday (and a few times throughout the season) I will be unable to attend due to work. How is my partner supposed to go to the game without me?

We had an appointment to talk on the phone with our account rep this morning but they cancelled on us. I'm getting very frustrated by this. Is there some way to contact account services directly?

I've done this the last two seasons for fellow Blazers fans and I figured since the long-awaited PORTLAND FIRE second inaugural season is finally upon us, I would do it for fellow Fire fans as well! I keep seeing a lot of questions about watching games this season, both in this sub and on other social media platforms. I thought I would make a FAQ regarding the over-the-air and direct-to-consumer options for the upcoming season.

Summary: The Portland Fire season is really here! The organization has announced two exciting ways for fans to watch their favorite team. On February 24th the Fire (and Thorns!) announced a deal with local broadcasting partner Grey Media's Fox 12 Plus (KPDX) in the Oregon and Washington markets to televise games for free (over-the-air). On April 7th the Fire announced the launch of an exciting direct-to-consumer streaming option that will be available in similar local markets called Portland Fire+. On April 27th Grey Media and RAJ Sports announced that Fox 12 Plus would be rebranded as Rose City SportsNet, positioning the channel as a women's-focused Regional Sports Network (RSN).

Q: I live in {insert city here}, what channel can I watch Fire games on?

A: The Fire have partnered with Grey Media to broadcast games on Rose City SportsNet (formerly Fox 12 Plus) in the Portland-Vancouver-Salem Designated Market Area (DMA). Below is a list of TV markets where the channel is available.

City OTA Cable
Portland/Vancouver/Salem Rose City SportsNet 49.1 Cable, 13 or 713
Bend/Madras Rose City SportsNet 49.1 Cable, 13 or 713

Q: Why isn't the city I live in on this list?

A: The Portland Fire have partnered with Grey Media to air games on KPDX. KPDX primarily operates out of the Portland area with translator stations extending signals to the following cities: Albany, Astoria, Hood River, La Grande, Madras, Milton-Freewater, Newberg, Tigard, Newport, Rainier, Longview, Rockaway Beach, Salem, The Dalles and Tillamook.

Q: I am a Hulu TV/YouTube TV/Fubo/etc subscriber, can I watch the games?

A: Grey Media and RAJ Sports have not yet announced the availability of Rose City SportsNet on these services. That doesn't mean that they won't be, but as far as I am able to gather thus far, the network will not be available on these services. Several users have confirmed that the game did on fact air on YouTube TV this evening in the local market with the Rose City SportsNet watermark and all. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a similar situation as the Rip City TV Network/YouTube TV dispute.

Q: How do I watch the games for free over-the-air?

A: The vast majority of modern televisions have built in over the air tuners, one simply needs to purchase and connect an antenna. For most, a simple indoor antenna like the Mohu Leaf should suffice. Some may find that an outdoor antenna is more suited to obtaining a signal. The RabbitEars.Info Signal Search Map is a great tool for helping determine a height and direction for outdoor antenna installations.

Q: What resolution will the games be broadcast in?

A: In Portland channel 49.1 is currently broadcast in 720p.

Q: How many games with be available on the Rose City SportsNet?

A: Rose City SportsNet will broadcast two pre-season games and 31 regular season games.

Q: The season is 44 games, why aren't they all available on Rose City SportsNet?

A: There are many games that will be nationally broadcast and not available on the local sports network. This is a result of the most recent NBA/WNBA media deal.

Q: Which games are nationally televised? Which games will I need to pay extra to watch on TV?

A: The following games will be nationally televised.

May 9 vs CHI (NBA TV)
May 14 vs NY (Prime)
May 20 @ IND (USA)
May 25 @ NY (NBCSN/Peacock)
May 29 vs ATL (ION)
May 30 vs IND (CBS)
June 5 vs PHO (ION)
June 7 @ LA (NBA TV)
June 26 @ CHI (ION)
July 11 @ ATL (CBS)
July 16 @ WSH (NBA TV)
July 22 vs DAL (USA)
July 31 vs IND (ION)
August 2 vs LA (NBC)
August 8 vs SEA (NBA TV)
August 14 @ SEA (ION)
August 16 @ PHX (ESPN)
August 21 @ TOR (ION)
August 25 @ DAL (NBA TV)
August 28 @ ATL (ION)

Note that games on ABC, CBS, NBC and ION are available free over-the-air. Games on ABC, NBCSN and CBS are also available on their parent company streaming apps, respectively (ESPN, Peacock and Paramount+). NBA TV games are available on WNBA League Pass. That means if you have an antenna and are a League Pass subscriber ($39.99 for the season), there are only five games that you will not be able to watch live without additional streaming or cable subscriptions.

Q: I already paid for League Pass, there's got to be a way to watch Fire games without paying extra money. What is it?

A: Technically speaking, you can watch every game for every team for the entire season with just WNBA League Pass. The rub is watching them LIVE. Local games that are blacked out will typically appear for viewing on demand within a few minutes to a few hours after the game concludes. Nationally televised games will appear on the app after 6AM ET the following day (as noted by u/Longjumping-Slip-172). If you can avoid spoilers it's the most frugal option.

Q: Can I watch the games on demand over-the-air?

A: In order to record, pause, rewind or rewatch OTA programming you will need an OTA DVR like a Tablo or HD Home Run device.

Q: I would prefer to stream the games to my smartphone, smart TV, or computer. Can I do that?

A: Yes! In addition to free over the air broadcasts, the Portland Fire have announced a direct-to-consumer streaming subscription called Portland Fire+. You can subscribe to Portland Fire+ and watch live games through the Portland Fire+ app or through the Portland Fire+ website. It will include access to live games, on-demand replays and original content.

Q: How much does Portland Fire+ cost?

A: It costs $59.99 for the 2026 season or $5.99/month. The Portland Fire are offering 15% off the service subscription between April 7 and May 8. Ember Circle members receive a 30% discount.

Q: Why would I subscribe to Portland Fire+ when I already have WNBA League Pass?

A: League Pass is great for watching out-of-market games. Like all major sports (NBA League Pass, etc) subscription services, local games are blacked out on League Pass. That means if the Fire are playing at home in the Rose Garden the game will NOT be available to watch on League Pass. While I agree this totally sucks, it is standard operating procedure for all major sports leagues in North America with modern media rights deals. The local games will ONLY be available on Rose City SportsNet, Portland Fire+, or on national networks if it is a nationally televised game.

Q: Is DVR available on Portland Fire+?

A: Presumably you will be able to pause, rewind and fast-forward during live games. Game will be available on-demand after they air.

Q: I'm a Portland Fire fan living outside of the local media market, can I still subscribe to Portland Fire+?

A: No, and yes. Officially, Fire+ is for customers in the local media market which covers Oregon and SW Washington. Subscriptions are zip code authenticated. That being said, it's likely that savvy Internet users who utilize a VPN will be able to circumvent these authentication measures.

Q: Will EVERY game be available on Rose City SportsNet and Portland Fire+?

A: All regular season games will be broadcast on Rose City SportsNet and Portland Fire+ with the exception of nationally televised games (games airing on Amazon Prime/CBS/Ion/USA/etc).

I just want to give everyone a place to give props to Travis. Typically I only catch him on the call when I'm driving during a game throughout the season but for the playoffs I listened to every game. He's such a pro. We're so lucky to be rich with amazing broadcasting personalities in Rip City and Travis is a big part of that.

Thanks for a great season, Travis!
