Aiming guns with Hotas?

Until now all my flight / space games I played with Mouse and Keyboard. I recently bought a vkb gladiator stick and it feels so much better. However, as expected, my skill at aiming various guns in games had gone down considerably. I will probably get better with practice but I wonder if it is even possible to ever be as good as using a mouse for gun kills, or do I just need to accept that I will just be worse now in dogfights.

Just wanted to hear your opinions about it.

For those wondering, right now I mainly play Nuclear Option and Infinity Battlescape

Saturation Cheatsheet

I keep finding myself bringing either the wrong ordnance or the wrong amount of it against ground targets.

Is there maybe some kind of "saturation cheatsheet" for each target?

For example, something like:

  • SPAAG → X AGM-48s / Y AGM-68s / Z bombs
  • SAM → X AGM-48s / Y AGM-68s / Z bombs
  • Corvette / other defended targets → recommended saturation

Basically telling me how many weapons should I actually launch to have a reasonable chance of killing the target, considering that SPAAGs/CIWS can shoot some of them down?

I've found individual discussions with rules of thumb, but I haven't found a comprehensive cheat sheet covering the different ground targets and weapons.

Does something like this already exist?

Head tracking and target selection

Are you guys able to use head/eye tracking reliably enough to use it for target selection?

I am a KBM player but wanted to stop using the mouse free look for target selection.

I bought beam eye but its either not comfortable for this or I am using it wrong. It seems that it knows where my eyes are looking at, but NO doesnt move the selector all the way there.

Was wondering if maybe other players can share their experience on this?

Keyboard and Stick?

KBM player here.
Was thinking of maybe trying out a stick (VKB gladiator). But I still am not sure I want to make the full jump and also get a something for my left hand.

Has anyone tried just playing with 1 stick in the right hand and use a keyboard on the left for thrust?

Game summary in library that appears rarely

https://preview.redd.it/16lsrepac28h1.png?width=1502&format=png&auto=webp&s=aac0d215a1d19435880a8baa35890e74f88e0039

Does anyone know why sometimes I get this cool summary of a game in my library? 99% its not there

Edit:

Got my answer. There is a small (i) icon next to the settings wheel that shows it. I was confused because I have never pressed that button and it sometimes decides on its own to be enabled.
