Seeking advice from other bespectacled Leica users

Just took the plunge and picked up a Leica M2, along with a Voigtlander Color Skopar 35mm. My previous rangefinder experience was with a Canon QL17 and then more recently I was borrowing a Leica CL. Now with the M2 I am encountering what I've learned is a very common issue glasses-wearers bump up against while shooting a Leica, which is not being able to comfortably see the 35mm frame lines.

So far I've just been slipping off my glasses to frame shots, which is alright but a little inconvenient, and also feels like a silly thing to have to do. My initial thought was I made a mistake going with a 35mm lens and should sell it to get a 50mm instead - but I love the 35mm focal length and want to find a way to make it work. Plus I have 50mm lenses for my SLRs so I can always grab one of those if I want to use that focal length.

I know an obvious solution is to get an external viewfinder, and I know a lot of people really like this method, but I'm not sure it appeals to me. I buy a camera to use the camera, not to use accessories, if that makes sense. Particularly with now having a Leica, attaching an external VF instead of using the camera's native one feels like it detracts from the experience of engaging fully with the camera. Plus zone focusing has never been my vibe, and the M2's rangefinder patch is such a joy to use that I don't want to sacrifice that part of the user experience either. This was never a problem with the QL17 or Leica CL, so I'm feeling a little disillusioned by having "upgraded" only to encounter a major hiccup that's preventing me from fully enjoying the camera.

I'm aware there might not be the perfect fix or workaround, just hoping to hear from other glasses-wearers who shoot an M camera and what their experience with this problem has been, if they found a solution, just got used to it, etc.

MK1 36mm

Loving the 36mm version of the MK1 mechanical. The nato strap wasn’t really working for me so I put it on this Speidel leather band. Don’t tell my Casios but I’m feeling like this and the 1983 E Line reissue might be the perfect two watch collection 😬
