I’ve been back in North Bay more lately after a long time away, and I’ve started taking my camera with me on bike rides. It’s been a nice way to reconnect with the place without overthinking it too much. Just riding around, stopping when something catches my eye, and noticing all the quiet little spots I probably ignored when I was younger. Found this one the today.
Thinking about adding an Empress ParaEq MKII Deluxe as a sidecar EQ at the end of my chain and curious what people think. Current board is already pretty full, so the idea would be main board output → ParaEq → amp, basically using it as an always-on final tone-shaping tool rather than another effect. My main issue lately is that my tone tends to swing between too bright/ice-picky, too boxy, or too muddy depending on the guitar, amp, room, and pedals engaged. I also have some ear sensitivity/tinnitus issues, so part of the appeal is being able to tame harsh frequencies and keep the rig more comfortable without killing the character of the board. Anyone using the ParaEq this way at the end of a chain? Worth going Deluxe over a simpler graphic EQ like a GE-7?

Where do people take their stuff to have serviced / set up?
Moving back here after 20 years - hopefully North Bay still has a vibrant music scene. It seems like Long and McQuade might be the only game in town?
