noise rock chain

Hello there,
I’m really into noise rock/shoegaze-type alternative stuff like Thee Oh Sees, Unwound, and My Bloody Valentine. Glide strumming is honestly one of the best things there is, but I’m not really happy with my current sound/board.

I change my pedal chain around quite often, partly because of that, and I’m still not sure whether I really like the way it’s set up.

The order I’m currently using is:
Tuner, chorus, Fuzz War, Big Muff, distortion, feedbacker/booster, reverb, Bad Monkey, tremolo, digital delay.

This might seem like a weird chain, but when I was building the board, I was trying to make the pedals work well together. I really like the reverb before the Bad Monkey, but after the distortion, and I also prefer the chorus before the drive pedals. I want the delay right at the end so I can mess around with it with feedback, but I’m still looking for ways to improve the board, new pedals, pedal replacements (maybe a new chorus), and some cool tweak pedals.

I’ve been looking at the HardWire RV-7 reverb or the Digiverb, mainly because of the reverse reverb, and I’m also interested in the EHX Pitch Fork.

Do you have any recommendations for pedals that would fit my board? And what do you think of my current chain?

Thanks!

Thoughts

I think it is pretty clean and not bad for my first pedal board. Wired dc and patch cables. Tried to hide as much as possible. I’m happy but down for a roasting if I deserve it.

Ready set Roast

This is a small pedalboard I've put together using mainly used stuff for my bass. I mainly play in the bedroom but I've started to play more school stuff and am looking at doing gigs with some of my bands. I'm looking at upgrading the belcat distortion for a boss odb-3

DIY board

Some of the process of making the board at the end.

I used an IKEA pegboard, cut it so it could fit in the bag I had (12.25” x 22”). The rest I used wood from the hobby board section at Home Depot. 2.5”x0.5” poplar for the underframe of the base layer, and the back support of the top layer. Red oak for the top layer and the back to add nice natural grain on the back, as well as support. The legs for the top layer were from my old gokko pedalboard.

Sanded the wood applied red cherry stain, a polyurethane spray finish.

Here is my signal chain:

Polytune -> pulp n peel -> Gladio (clone) -> POG2 -> sunset -> jb2 -> chroma console -> layers -> D1 -> R1.

The graviton is set up for controlling the delay and reverb (D1, R1) as well as the chroma console

Nueva adquisición

Just tried the Greer Amps Mori Drive for the first time. It’s basically a really interesting blend of Tube Screamer and Klon-style sounds, and I’m really happy with it so far. I think I’ve finally found a spot for it in this setup where everything works really well together. Still experimenting, but I’m loving it so far.

Roast my board(s)

Top Board:

Goes specifically into a Peavey Classic > Fender Deluxe.

My all purpose/ambient board.

Top row is gain stage, might not keep all of them on it so it's in trst phase.

RingerBringer is my Wild Card on this one.

Middle Board:

Whenever I play on each of the other boards, or directly in my practice amp or in my interface to play on the computer,

I only need a single tuner/comp/pitch shifter,

So they all go in a separate board running on battery.

Bottom Board:

Goes into an Orange Jim Root.

The switcher is to switch between the preamp of my Orange head, or replacing it with the Diezel pedal as a preamp.

It's mostly a heavy/doom board.

Pulsar is just there as an entry point, it used to be a tuner that got replaced with the Peterson on the middle board, still have to figure out what to do with the emplacement.

Reverb and delay are just in case.

Basic ass pedalboard that I’ve been using for a longtime.

Usually don’t have the chorus pedal on there. I’d like to add another delay pedal in the near future.

SOTB again. And again….

Hello again, I’m back with more bullshit, and open to opinions on how to improve upon what y’all think is bullshit here. Cheers

It gets more upsetting the further you zoom in

I switch the Disturbance CV out between the Crossover and Macrodose because I like to party

Yes it still kickflips

My original pedalboard was too elite aka got kicked out of this subreddit because I didn’t have a pedalboard. Back at it now with a bossy / classy piece of art and technology. Have at it

Just put this together today.

Drummer of 20 years. Been playing guitar off and on for three years. I mainly have used amplitude and di. Roast away!

Is it technically a pedalboard if it has no pedals

Decided digital effects are the way, needed a way to control em, got a midi controller and expression pedal.
