They have been EV-ERY-WHERE recently! Love it. This week an idiot with a boom box and a bigger attitude got on my train. After 5 minutes of obnoxiousness, I texted security at (206) 398-5268. In ten minutes they arrived and pulled the idiot off. I couldn’t resist letting idiot know I was the one! Not usually a good idea but I am a big guy and REALLY tired of that selfish behavior.
Two hours late out of Williston ND. At least two hours waiting near Wenatchee for clear tracks; now another hour or more delay near Leavenworth. 8 PM predicted arrival in Seattle when it was noon. The romance of the rails is rapidly disappearing.
I rode the Empire Builder three times in the last couple months. The cafe car takes cards but the dining car does not, cash only. Why is that?
Hello my NPR friends! I visit the Portland OR area regularly from Seattle (which is NPR heaven, I can get three different stations!). Oregon Public Broadcasting, at least several times throughout the day, runs through the station call letters and locations for all OPB stations. I’ve never heard that anywhere else in the country, and I listen to a lot of NPR all over. Can someone inform me why? Is that an OPB rule, is that just their preference? Is it an NPR rule? TIA!
