Engine light on my new General after 5 miles
I purchased a lightly used 2023 general from my local dealer. It has ~190miles and overall looks barely used.
Once home I took it about a half mile down the street to a dirt road just to test it out now that it's home. I didn't do any very aggressive acceleration and went about 40mph. Before I could even make it 2miles it got an engine light. It gave the codes 65590 and 65591 and went into limp mode. The dealer says it's because of the street driving slipping the belt. I putted around the yard and got the light away so I drove it even easier this time down the street and it came back after a mile.
I read that belt slippage can cause this so I checked the belt and I could see what looks to be light glazing on the primary clutch. Could that be the cause? I'm going to contact the dealer again, but to me it seems absurd that just a test drive down the street would cause an engine light. ( I know excessive street driving isn't ideal)
Any thoughts would be appreciated
