I could forsee where America was heading to now back two decades ago.

I am not overwhelmingly surprised at the rise of maga and the hard-left movements. Both movements didn't just spring out of nowhere. For decades, the most of America tolerated the rise of polarizing political figures and media personalities. I had watched a couple of episodes of trump on the apprentice. His arrogance, stupidity. meanness were very evident on his show. I saw how trashy TV made bad people famous whether in the entertainment sphere e.g kardashians or in the world of politics. Trump rose to his current position by utilizing all that America availed to him. I knew he would win over conservatives as they already worshipped liars such as rush limbaugh, ann coulter etc.

Why does this sub only talk about things Trump does like it just another day?

Trump is doing so much damage yet this sub talks about the news like it is any other day. Were it not for America's strong economy a lot of Americans would be experiencing hardship and international isolation now. I feel like this sub completely refuses to be truly critical about the GOP. Americans will be tarred with the trump presidency. The US is globally reviled for its terrible leadership who reck havoc on other nations. Now, the U.S has shown it will fully allies for its own greed under the republicans. There I something deeply wrong with the entire GOP and its base.

Why is having an enormous ego seen as okay by many in America?

Hollywood celebrities, influencers, reality stars, politicians, activists, Maga supporters, radio hosts, TV presenters and billionaires (thiel and Musk) have the biggest egos on this planet. America kind of encourages having a huge ego as it mistakes being confident as being loud, being demanding and everywhere. An idiot like Trump despite his selfishness, corruption and stupidity was reelected by 77 million Americans. They say trump is charismatic, however if you watch a minute of his videos you will immediately notice his idiocy and arrogance. I strongly believe that the normality of egoism in American culture has made millions of Americans regardless of race and political affiliation okay with elevating idiots as long as those people act like they own the world. Where did that culture begin in America? Why are millions of America silent or supportive of it?

Too many Americans think the rest of the world is just like America or wants to be it. Where did the attitude come from ?

The whole Trump-Canada/Greenland annexation threats and the response from some people to it has made me realize that even when told no or never, some Americans think that they own the world or everyone is just like them or that everyone wants to be like the USA. It is very common to see Americans talk about issues in foreign countries like they have knowledge on it. I feel deeply embarrassed when I see an American whether they are maga, progressive or neutral commenting on issues happening in foreign countries as if they are experts. Trump's threats has been treated lightly in America. Some even cheer it on (mostly conservatives) while others cannot understand what is wrong with what he is doing. Imagine if an American ally behaved in the same way trump regularly does towards the U.S. What would be the response from Americans?

I hate how trump is blamed for everything and not his voters nor his party

Maga voters voted for an evil man for flimsy reasons. Even to this day, most of them see nothing wrong with their votes. They go to church on Sunday and right back on the way home start sinning again. They see his threats to Canada, Greenland, democrat led states and cheer for it. For maga, hatred, arrogance and stupidity are the ways of life. Maga is the real form of a party that got away with starting two wars. Republicans voters have always been anti-science, hypocritical, anti-common sense, anti-intelligence willingly ignorant and arrogant. Maga amplifies every bad trait the GOP has always had. Trump is a typical republican I.e he lies as soon as he opens his mouth. No republican can truly on their being deny that trump doesn't embody the immoral values that have always existed in their party.

Why are MAGA voters seen as victims or just naive?

They saw his incompetence during his first term, his dangerous lies about everything, his arrogance and stupidity, his corruption yet the still decided to vote for him. The GOP didn't suddenly become bad. It was always bad and evil. From bush and cheney to lies about Obama himself and his policies. Why the pity for people who willingly embrace hate, lies, corruption, evil etc ?

When will people start to properly address the anti-intellectualism and extreme selfishness that exists in the GOP?

How many presidential cycles would it take to get ordinary sensible Americans to start protesting against the GOP and against individuals who decide to be so anti-intellectual. The entire world is progressing while America is stagnant. Held hostage by its poorest regions who refuse to think reasonably and indulge I conspiracy theories, fox news lies etc. Too many people make excuses for Republic when there should be no excuses for their blatant misbehavior. They are a group of people who have decided that arrogance and craziness arw the way to go. I don't trust anti-maga republicans as they have the same problems as their maga counterparts. Both want to turn America into their religious land. Both are pro-militaty spending and anti-infrastructure. America is lagging behind because republicans don't want to progress it. Most of them refuse to use their brains and live their lives welfare dependent on wealthy blue states. They vote purely out of selfish and bad reasons. I cannot understand the entire GOP.
